First grow and I am unable to find what the proper consistency of the brf/verm mixture.
I made it following the simple cubensis growing tek to the T. My verm was a little damp so I used a little less water. It seems like the mixture has to much water in it though There isn't any pooling water but it is runny. Should it be more like wet sand?
I would appreciate any suggestions on what the consistency should actually be like.

Well the way I think about moister content, cause when it comes to moister it seems that PF, grain or substrates all have the same requirements.
One way to think of it is that you want the moister just below saturation level. So no there should not be pools of water or runny. That would seem to indicate above saturation, maybe not by much but still.
Yeah like damp sand, but if you where to "ring' it out water would drip...
I dont know if that helps but just what I was thinking....

It should just be damp and cohesive, meaning it should clump and stick to itself. I've noticed if it's put in a jar and doesn't get all muddy on the suface of the glass, it's pretty good. Just get it to where it looks like some good mushroom food!
Start dry and go slow, if it gets muddy, add a little verm or BRF

Thank you very much. Been searching around and I think its called field capacity. Yeah when I squeeze it no water comes out and there's no pooling so their going into the PC.
Thanks for the help.
