Ok I have all my spore prints on foil and a was wondering if putting the prints in a bran new jar, then putting the jar in the fridge would allow the spores to stay alive for a year?

yeah prints last a long time.
Once you hydrate a spore, then it can go bad.

yep, the fridge isn't helping, the dryness is much more important. you don't want to expose them to excessive heat, but keeping them cold doesn't help. better off focusing on getting some silica gel packets or a home made desiccant packet with damp rid or something in your jar, and keeping it air tight rather than worry about refrigeration. they'll last much much longer than a year at any comfortable room temp as long as they stay good and dry.

Personally, I think it's quite the opposite. Hydrated spores, i.e. syringes, seem to last forever. I've had trouble firing up old spore prints, but never spore syringes. 90% of my print stock was just transferred to vacutainers w/ sterile water for this reason. It's nothing more than a hunch.
I'd choose hydration over refrigeration. While there's no real evidence that spores need to be kept at refrigeration temps, they certainly seem to like to be kept in water.
