Just switched over to first casings, and first whole grain rye fruit attempt. 15 cups vermiculite, 15 cups peat, 2 cups limestone (powder) is the casing mixture colonized rye, dumped into sterile pans, cased with above ratios. (autoclaved for 45mins) Is this casing mixture ok? or should i modify it? How does cobweb mold respond to h2o2? i used a syringe and added some h2o2 to the area i thought was bad, no responce any other possible sources of the nasty web. sorry bout the pictures resolution, the cam isnt HIGH quality by any means.. thanks
These first 2 are the same pan, just different views
this is a second cased substrate. thanks for any input, ideas

It is hard to get a good veiw, but that bottom picture looks like what I had on one of my casings. It looked kind of like that before it turned green and took over the casing. Hopefully not, but that is what it looks like to me.

So, what did you do to fix yhour problem with case? or was it an isolated situation with that case only. As of now, all the casings in my terrarium are contam except 1. Would more lime fix the problem? say 5 cups to 15/15 verm/peat? (instead of 5/15/15)

With my contaminated casing I tried to cut out the contaminated piece because there were some mushrooms on uneffected parts of it. That didn't work out though, so I ended up throwing out the casing. The contamination did not spread to another casing that I had in the same terranium, and it fruited nicely. Good Luck.

have you ever tried h2o2 on the cobweb? i did on mine, and got no activity. so im thinking if cobweb doesnt respond to h2o2, it may in fact just be mycelium.. it certainly looks far too light, and puffy to be mycelium though..
