Living for ever would suck, or even a very very long time.
Then again I dont have an ego.

Without death there would not be life. There would no motivation. There would be no point to anything.

not that i'm suicidal or anything, just... spiritual.

Death to me is an exciting transition, the next phase of my existence. To worry about death or feel sad about it seems foolish to me. Why not accept it as an inevitable part of your life?
Remember, true suffering comes from our resistance to what is...

Many times....actually most times I feel that yes death is just another part of life but every great once in a while like now i jus get anxious and worried that there is no afterlife which means our existence ends on earth..... ive done this since i was a little kid

I use to worry about death, but part of my spiritual practice is to meditate on and contemplate death, and eventually you gain an understanding and acceptance of what is. The fear you feel when you think of death as the end of yourself is the ego resisting it's obliteration.
Once you realize that the ego is a mind-created illusion, the fear goes away

I'm not sure what your spiritual/metaphysical beliefs are, but here's my "theory" (I'm not saying that this is absolutely how the universe works, it's just a collection of my musings over the years, pulled together from science, etc.):
The universe (in terms of infinite existence, not the collection of galaxies) has existed forever. It exists because it can, because it is possible. It doesn't have a beginning or an end. The universe as a whole is in a constant rhythmic expanding and contracting, only to be reset each time by a "big bang."
So I'm thinking that as humans, we are simply a collection of basic building blocks which have attained self-awareness. When you die, you're just going to go back to your elemental form again and no longer be able to be aware. You'll go through eternity, only to come back together as the same whole being at some infinitely distant point in the future. Between now and then you'll be completely separated, but in many different forms, perhaps other living self-aware phases.
Once again, these are just my crackpot musings. They have just as much of a chance of being true as anything else. I don't think anyone can really know or understand the universe with certainty. Anyone who thinks they can is kidding themselves.

I agree with much of what you said, although I do believe that we can carry a certain amout of experience with us from one "life" or existance to the next. This may show itself as intuition or deja-vu, or how some people just seem like old souls as compared to others.

I've been talking to hunter S thompson recently.
he doesn't say much.
I believe he is very 'grateful to be dead'.
Indeed, he lost a lot of sleep in his life.
Now, he is at rest.
but I suspect he shall soon be recovered, and off to bigger and better things.

i dont think there is anything on the 'otherside' when you die thats it youre gone youre not going to some magical place in the sky. but i guess if believing in a god or an afterlife makes you happy keep on believing
living forever would be kinda cool if your body would stop aging like somewhere in the 20s or something. you could do all the things you could never get done in a natural lifetime. or you could be lazy and lounge around all day enjoying yourself and a beautiful landscap, unless man kind ends up ruining all of the earth in the future. itd be pretty lonely though if youre the only one living forever but if everyone lived forever itd be kinda dumb. in a sense some people do 'live forever' in memory and history and all that mumbo jumbo

Ever see a film or hear a song that outstays its welcome?
That's how I think existence would be if we lived forever.
Also - overpopulation!

Death doesn't scare me that much, after all, it's not like breaking a leg where you have to live with the pain of breaking your leg after you break it. I'm more terrified of aging. Watched a documentry the other day about getting old, scariest thing I've ever seen on TV.
