help:mushroom picking/identification guide

i need a super accurate mushroom hunting guide for mushrooms that grow in southern California. i have walked in my local forest a bit ago and saw like 30 different kinds of mushrooms growing. and i would like to know if any one can help? specifically looking for a identification guide with lots of pictures and allot of identification information. :mushroom2:

Personally, I think David Aroura's "Mushrooms Demystified" is the best all around North American mushroom field guide. Nothing's really even close.
But -
It should be said - most people at the shroomery (by all means, not ALL ) but most... are looking for psychoactive mushrooms. If that the case with you - 2 things: the book to get is Stamets' "Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World" - HANDS DOWN!
and second.... there are no or at best very VERY few magic mushrooms in SoCal...

I'll sum it up for you in a few lines:

No active mushrooms grow in abundance in southern Cali.
You MIGHT find Pan subbs.
