I was looking at one of my monotubs today and i noticed it had a small peice(nickel) of green mold. What is the best thing to do with this monotub? Hopefully there is a way to save it because there is alot of healthy myc growing. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any help.

I would cut 1/2-1-1/2 inch all the way around it and about 2 inches deep and remove it carfully. Then I would spray h202 there. Then I wouldnt do jack shit and wait. and stair and be crazy.

yup carefully remove it, taking the surrounding area at all angles with it... you can pour some salt or baking soda in the hole then and that should help prevent it from spreading any further if any spores were dropped or traces left behind, but will obviously not be so good for the myc in that area... so expect a little dead patch, but hey that's better than green overrunning the place. never done the salt/baking soda thing myself to vouch for it directly, but its in TMC.

I recently had a tub that I tried to save, cut a good 2" around the spot. Next day since it had already sporulated and gone green found more. Cute again. Next day back...Tossed the tub and decided as stated by Agar if its green get rid of it.

everybody says if its green get rid of it...
i just saved a big ass bulk grow by fighting the green a few times, now its gone for good.
spray some bleach/water on the spot before removing anything, this will help kill spores so u dont spread it.

I agree with drone. I spray down some bleach water and than remove the infected area very carefully and completely. Had limited success doing this, but there was success. The green is some bad shit so good luck with that.
Be very careful of it sporulating and killing the whole tub. If you have an air pump going, shut it off for a couple of days and cut down on fanning. Be very cautious, and lastly handwashing is of the utmost importance.
