ok i have blueberry, strawberry, green peppers, chamomile, wormwood, and saliva growing.
they are all very good sized, infact the strawberrys are fruiting. so i said to myself i think its time to add some ferts to the soil to help them all out.
i bought this pennington fertlizer it says 6-10-10 on it, and it says ALL PURPOSE. so i thought hey this will do me right up
i added about a handfull of this stuff to top soil of each pot. these are pretty good sized pots, size of a basketball at least.
anyways a few days afterwords, the strawberrys, blueberrys, and wormwood look like they are all going to DIE ON ME. What the hell?
all the leaves are turning brown and weird colors and shit, these are good sized plants, the biggest i have ever grown indoors. my green peppers i had like 10 of them in one pot all good sized, after ferts only 2 are left standing days later.
so now i don't know what to do, and oddly enough my freakin saliva D plant is unfazed by all this so far.

what does the side of the box of fert say?
a handfull in each pot????! That seems like an awful lot.
You may have went overboard and poisoned your plants.

thats just it the stupid box was so retarded(ironic isn't it)
it said 2-3 pounds per 100 square feet, i figuer the whole box must be only 5 pounds. a handfull just looked right, it doesn't even cover all the soil on top, single layered, there are plent of gaps.

based on what they did to my plants i can only guess i should have only put a half teaspoon in a 5 gallon pot...just seems very off to me.

well its very possible that its made for a spreader, but right on the back of the box it says for
lawn -gives amount per 100 ft gardens/vetables- amount per 100ft flowers=ect ect.

you burned them with the ferts. you need to try to repot them all as soon as possible and i would say maybe wash the roots off? its possible to save them still. you should have used maybe a teaspoon for a foot tall plant, less on the strawberries. really the best way i think is to just use organic ferts. composted manure, bone meal, epsom salts, and leave the chemicals like miracle crap on the shelves. some plants need more of one than the other so its best to just do a bit of research on what u grow.

You over ferted BAD man. A handful in a 5 gallon pot sounds like WAY too much of any fert. If you put the fert in with the soil, you need to take those plants out and transplant them into a new medium, with low to no ferts and use soluble ferts gradually after they get better. But the main thing you need to do is to get those plants outta that soil and rinse the roots and get em in a new medium. You MAY still have a chance but sometimes its too late. Get to it!

i'd say, try to take the top layer, the fert layer, out and flush the hell out of em after you do that (not before ) and hope for the best. you could take the plants out, flush the roots with water and transplant, but that could be dangerous. next time, be patient when trying new ferts, especially on plants you've never given em to. give a lot less than you think to them, and wait a week to see any signs of stress, if you don't see much at all, not even good growth, then use a little more, and repeat til you find the perfect amount. And, i'd also recommend some high-quality organics for plants you may plan on consuming.
