Besides now finding both P. cubensis and/or P. subcubensis, mixed collections of Copelandia species, and Psilocybe samuiensis on the grounds of the main Angkor Wat Compound, Kampuja.

we now add Psilocybe antioquensis tot he evergrow list of neurotropic fungi in south and southeast Asia.
Here are five pages in the new issue of the International Journal of Medicinal Mushrooms.

Best regards to all.

It would really be a very sad day in the history of the sacred mushrooms if GGreatOne234 never finds time in his life to visit these sacred shroom grounds.
If he did he would be one of the happiest people in the world for going there. Nothing in his life could ever equal a trip to this magic place.
So get off your shroomy bottom and hit the air waves and travel on that magic sound molecule to the home the Khemer and their sacred shroom grounds.

Yes. I bioassayed 20 specimens at Prah Khan, Xiem Riap, Kampuchea. they are similar to P. semilanceata in potency. One dried gram or 20-30 shrooms or so weighing in at about 1/3 fresh ounce per dose.

With that prevelence of psychoactive mushrooms in the vicinity of Angkor Wat it makes you wonder whether there was in fact historical usage at these sights. I dont think there is much archaeological evidence, but probably no systematic search for it either. Do you think these mushrooms are hear as a result of agriculture or have been there for some time?

Terance McKenna and I have both studied the archeological impact of the diggings in the Non Nak Tha region of northeastern Thailand where the bones of Bos indicus have been excavated along with human remains, thus this is a positive indication of ancient man's relationship between cattle and humankind.
Remember that early food hunter-gatherers would follw the manure heaps of large migratory mammals while searching for foods. Thus finding mushrooms in the remains of the manure of the passing animals.
Scatological rites may have played an important role in the religeous development of the Khemer civilization.
I do have the photo of Shiva (holding what appears to be a mushroom in his hand), awaiting publication and appearing in a lengthy paper, with five co-autrhors, a paper which I keep talking about and am still working on. Right now I am still awaiting a majority of the DNA sequencing results.
WE finally got our samples of P. semilanceata, only our DNA researcher, Dr. Jittra, is recovering from surgery in Thailand. SO we await the work of the semilanceata.
A 2nd paper I am writing is on ommenrcial Thai tobacco production in rural regions of southern Thailand. WE have DNA and chemical analysis for that paper also.
Have a shroomy day.

Wow - I think that's pretty convincing and likely. As long as you have some archaeological evidence of the prevelance of that bovine species during the Khmer period then there has to be a considerable chance that they were atleast aware of them. Cool.

I've found this picture:

Showing two figures, one unquestionably holding a mushroom and another probably also
