Never simmered before...WBS question

On FooManShroom's tek that replaces simmering instead of soaking overnight, does the pot just sit on its own without heat after the WBS is added to the boiling water?

I think I read the post right but I'm stoned.

I like to bring the water to a rapid boil then dump the grain in and turn off the heat entirely and let the grain sit in the hot water for 30-45 mins and it will be done.


Then pc 90 mins.

if you have an electric stove make sure you move the pot to a different burner. If you dont, you get more popped grains. and no you dont need to stir.

just bring to a full boil, remove from heat, dump in the seeds and put on a tight fitting lid. let sit for 1.5 hours or so. worked for me

ya this is more of a steaping proces the simmering. i also do this i find it easyer then simmering ebucase i don't have to monitor heat. just take it off teh burner leave teh lid on for 30 to 60 mins or whenever i get around to do the next step that day. then i do a pasta drain with the lid. non of that drainfor 45 mins stuff. just toss in a spoonful of verm into the bottom of each jar befor you load it and you don't have pooing from your quick draining session.

My process is draining for 10 Mins then adding 1 quart of dry verm for every 7 quarts of simmered/steeped grain. I mix the verm well with the grain in a large bowl making sure it is a very homogeneous mixture. Then I load into the jars and PC 90 Mins.

I soak and simmer. anyway soaking is optional if you simmer but i found my wbs prone to large amounts of contams.
anyway adding verm is recommended mixed or layered but it sure solves the pooling issue.
