In your oppinion, is LSD shamanically usefull in the same way that psilocybin mushrooms are shamanically usefull? (in terms of allowing access to deep levels of knowledge and information?)

I would say more so, but this is based on a pretty small sample size of each.

Some people would say no or atleast that it has limited value - including Terence McKenna if I remember correctly - but i disagree - i think it ultimately and in a more caring and intergrated way offers more than some tryptamines. I met get flamed for that comment but its an opinion.

Personally I would have to say NO. I am funny in that way, I think anything that is man made and not occuring naturaly in nature is in no able to connect you to natural things like other states of consciouness. (hope i spelled that right) But that is just my opinion and like assholes everyone has them and mine may stink.

LSD does occur naturally, though. Only its isolation requires the hand of man.

For me - nah. It changes your perspective but I just don't feel spirits in acid realm. Maybe it's my problem but I've got friends that share this point of view. For me LSD is like looking glass and natural psychedelics are a voyage to the spirits' world.

Not by me IMO LSD is the ONLY man-made sacrament. Shamanism is and has been about change(spiritual, physical, mental)and the modern shaman has at his/her disposal many of the tools of traditional ancient shamnic practice.LSD is a relative newcomer to the fold but it has the ability to put one in touch with the same spiritual place as mushies, aya or mescaline. Prayer and meditation are more key than the substance used. However prayer, meditation and a psychedelic sacrament open doors that just the drug alone may not. For me the psychedelic experience is one of feeling god "right around the corner of the universe from where I am" LSD has evoked this feeling as often if not more often than shrooms which tend to be a less "serious" and more giggly -playfull time for me. Not real spiritual but 6-8g of cubies and 4-6pints is a great night of plain fun.4-6hits of decent L and I want to be alone and ponder the infinite. WR

I find myself able to induldge in a more shamanistic or religious type experience on LSD rather than mushrooms. However, large doses of either can bring about similar experiences for me.

IMO - we agree! I dont find mushrooms more giggly though, for me they tend to be rather stern teachers or guides - whereas Acid seems for me to be more relaxed or caring and Ive been to places on higher doses of acid that Ive never been close to on anything else other than perhaps salvia (which ofcourse was a different experience and a different kettle of fish)

It certainly opens specific doors. It is a very interesting substance. It occurs in nature and it's particular extraction has a lot to do with the condition of the drug... I love the "scientific" feelings that it gives me towards universe understanding.
