A womens work is never done.

First you have to shovel shit (h/poo)in your truck.

Then, you have to shovel it out, on a huge tarp, to dry.

As the old saying goes.

Ya better get it, while the getting is GOOD.

I wouldn't do it myself.

But, since it's free, well aged, fairly dry & only a few mile drive.
I went ahead and got 4 P/U truck loads full.
Two loads went into my garden.(don't hate me)
Two myco-purpose loads are air drying in the back yard on tarps now.

Plan is, once Sahara sand dry, to shred it.
Then store it in beefy oven size boxes, I got free, from an appliance store.

3 BIG boxes all fit well along one wall, inside my garage, without getting in the way.

A dry ton (+/-?) of high quality h/poo substrate, should last me far into the foreseeable future.
:stoned:

Too much work and time consuming for me to pasteurize 125 pounds at a time, lol.

It's enough work keeping green houses full and harvesting, cleaning and so on . I think it would take a lot of the fun out of it if I was doing all the pasteurizing . I have plenty of free and well aged poo in my neighbors back yard . It was fun ONCE , and only Once, lol.

I prefer to be self sufficient.
Rather than rely on mail order.
No paper trail, either.

Any big free standing inexpensive metal wall locker with multiple shelves, with a dial type temperature control hot plate setting on the the bottom, will do the trick (couple hundred lbs +++, a run).

It helps to retain heat (better), if you line the inside of the wall locker (inner walls, doors & ceiling) with thermo-foam type insulation (4X8 ft X 1/2 inch sheets are inexpensive, and will cut with a box cutter. They are simple to glue (liquid nail)in place).

Simply hydrate the shredded h/poo, fill plastic bags, close with a rubber band, set bags on the wall locker shelves.
Adjust heat to the 155F range (+/- 10F), close the door & leave it alone for a 3 days.

You can monitor the internal temperature of the wall locker with any old hanging thermometer. As well as the internal temperature of the bags, with a meat type thermometer, or  insert type digital probe thermometer.

This method doesn't create any odor, to speak of either.
Nor, do the bags loose any moisture.
As, they are sealed with rubber bands.

Simple, inexpensive, bulk & near fool-proof.  :thumbup::heart:

Nice . If you don't live in an apartment, lol.

I'm sure my neighbors would just love tarps of poo all over leeching.

I gotcha.
P/U truck loads of h/poo would not do well under those circumstance.
Either drying, storing, or pasteurizing.

I'm blessed to have a rural ranch home on 3 acres.
Nearest neighbor on N/S sides is 100 + yards.
Nearest neighbor on E/W sides is about a 1/4 mile.

i live on the 3rd floor of an apartment complex, and right now, my back porch, which is decent size, has a couple hundred pounds of poo (from my schools equestrian team right near me) sitting on a tarp covering my whole porch. i really need a picture of this. luckily, a guy i work with has 3 horses at his house, and lives only a couple miles from work !!!

What pasteurization technique did you use. IME you have to TRY to make hpoo contaminate. The only contamination Ive ever got with hpoo is fermentation and that was just when i had the incubator too hot.
