i found a sweet used car for sale in toronto and i want to go and buy it. i know that there will be a 2.5% tax on the purchase price of the vehicle (at the border)
but i dont know what sort of papers i would have to file in toronto to drive a used vehicle that i just bought. I know that canadians have 6 days to register a used car, but can I drive it around for those 6 days before going back to the states???
ill be buying the insurance in the states before i leave to get the car, so ill have that covered.....
any help would be apreciated!
thanks

no im was saying when u go to the title place to switch it over.. u tell them that the vehicle was a gift.. so u pay no taxes on it.. and just settle with the owner in cash and hand write a bill of sale..
