No i didn't PC them. i used the method of a pot and i put some hold pajama bottoms on the bottom of the pan. I also had them somewhat open in the incubation chamber, and I also opened them up in some fresh outside air. Could any of them other things have caused it?

Yup, all of those things can cause contamination. Even pressure cooking can fail to fully sterilize, so you are risking it much more with only a pot. Opening the jars AFTER sterilization is a BAD idea. So don't do it again! :-P

OK right now i have the same jars and i put the little lid upside down and screwed the other cap on and it has holes poked for the inoculation with band aids covering the holes. is that bad?

Huh, that is really weird. I have heard various methods of placing the lid onto the jars.... I only took note and employed the one that seemed least susceptible to contamination. I do not know what the need for turing the rubber seal lid upside down is, but i deff prefer to close it as it is meant. I have had minimal contam probs thus far, one jar out of... 16. Not bad. So if you decide to flp them over, make sure EVERYTHING IS STERILE, I cannot stress this enough, I wear a face mask so that i can get close to my work and be most precise and avoidant of possible contams withought barfing germs everywhere I use bleach and alcohol to sterilize, mostly alcohol (isopropyl 70% not 90%), use a lighter and cotton swab with alcohol to sterilize anything that is going to be close to or going into the jar (the needle of the syringe, and if you use scissors to cut up the bands aids- i use band aids as well, but I cut around the cotton part because i don't trust it's permeability and seems like if it became wet, it could light the whick of the candle so to speak).
Anyways, good luck to you
