Could mustard seed be used as a substrate?

i have been doing some research on what contains a lot of tryptophan, since it translates to mushroom potency by converting into psilocybin, and according to http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=nutrient&dbid=103 mustard seed contains a lot. i searched the forums and it appears no one has attempted using mustard seed. is there any reason why this wouldnt work? if not i will try a couple jars of it and let everyone know how it goes. ..

I believe I have seen some people (vendors too IIRC) add it to their PF cakes to increase potency.

Mustard seed, rape seed, flax seed and a couple of others tend to get sticky when used in large amounts. These seeds should only be used in small amounts in substrate mixes.

Not to mention, mustard seed is a little pricey when you compare it to other grains. Millet, quinoa, wheat berries and others are also high in tryptophans, but are much cheaper. Mushrooms will only use so much of the nutrients they're given, so going crazy with the tryptophan probably isn't necessary.
I've used quinoa in the past and noticed a difference over BRF. I haven't noticed much of a difference compared to h/poo, rye or WBS. This is also just my experience. If you've read alot about the topic here, you know many people disagree with the trytophan theory.

well i searched for tryptophan on the forums and read a few posts about it, but there isn't a whole lot said about whether the theory of potency is true or not, can u point me in the right direction? because i have been doing quite a bit of research on what has the highest levels of tryptophan, but if the potency thing isnt even accurate then i dont want to waste anymore of my time with it...

I would recommend just about any grain spawned to h/poo, not just for potency, but for great flushes and big mushrooms. I use double tub setups for all my grows due to ease of use. You can check out the results in my picture gallery. If you are going for the whole enchilada, you may want a greenhouse setup like Hippie Chick's.
