just a quick report on these funny little fungi not rocket science, and neither was my approach to measuring the exact dose.. (wasn't sure how much was needed for a mild trip)
Setting: housebound pretty much
23:50 - ingest 2 small semi-dry (diameter a little wider than a ciggie) immediate slight stomach discomfort (prob anxiety) 23:52 - start sipping cup of tea/brew (+-2g semi-dry) 23:55 - feeling pre-trip glow 00:07 - finish off tea, ingest contents of tea bag 00:10 - definite "pressure" starting to surround body 00:20 - ciggie outside (dark and stormy) mild paranoia due to sensory exagguration 00:24 - mild euphoria - giggling - and teeth starting to clench 00:30 - mild nausea/unease 00:35 - time for a session! 00:40 - warm body glow.. disassociation from actual room temperature (this persists throughout the trip.. don't physically feel how hot or cold a room is, but it affects my mood subconciously) 00:50 to 2:00 - time becomes distorted, many giggles, not much paranoia but my friend is an awesome tripping partner. spend most of the time playing with candlewax. should break it down really:
Visuals - slight warping of surroundings, CEV not very obvious, but i don't often see visuals whilst tripping (see comedown below) definite vibrance of colour
Audio - hearing becomes super-sensitive, and this makes up most of my focal landscape. various sounds are _Loud_ beautiful, intruiging, alarming and/or alien.
Body - quite tense and "speedy"..manifests itself in a feeling like something is clamped around my body - does not alarm me as i realise whats causing it and breath deep, stretch, relax, make body contact etc
Mood - varies between clench-tooth pensive, moments of mild anxiety and mild/high/extreme euphoria.
02.31: definite dip.. feeling calm and more present 02.57: even more so.. noticeable fatigue 03.10: go to bed, try to sleep this makes me feel nausious and uneasy, so i massage my friend as a healthy compromise convinced that i'm able to see trouble spots on their back with my eyes closed hehe 05.20: after lying in bed in a half-dream state, must get up for a while (also around this time my friend wakes up and sleep talks, telling me i have lots of mushrooms growing all over my body and proceeds to 'feel' them (specially under the armpits apparently ) 06.00ish : sit outside with the sunrise, again hearing is extremely amplified, some sounds are quite alarming and alien until i identify them. 08.00ish : shower and bed, feel pretty sober (well to a point)
the end!
ps. i usually only get closed eye visuals on the comedown after being up for ages.. probably jsut haven't had a really strong trip yet (but have had a good bit of psychadelic dabbling)

from info on hiddenforest.co.nz i gather they only grow in the north island of NZ..
tried these pouches again a few days ago.. didn't measure my dose properly so is pointless posting a proper report.. the effects were much heavier on my body this time.. felt weak and lazy and a little stupid (but warm and content to just sit back) I experienced much time compression.. many hours passed in what felt like one or less.. i think i was stuck in an inane "preparatory" loop, waiting for the "actual" trip to kick in, and thus missing most of what was going on. had a nasty hangover.
I must add that earlier tonight I brought up the topic of shroom hunting whilst talking to my friend. i asked him which active mushrooms he had taken when he was younger, living just outside welli.. without prompting he drew me a perfect representation of weraroa novaezealandiae! He also called them "blue meanies" and told me they were more of a body trip than a head trip. I have heard the exact same info from another shroomer who runs in different circles. SO.. seems like these little pouches may be familiar to quite a few wellingtonians.. many trippers probably Would just call them a common name such as "blue meanie" and not worry about anything other than their active nature..
Tonight am embarking ona p.sub trip with a good friend.. yus!! Thus i can report on the difference between the two species. cheerio old chaps!
