A great opening game with the Pacers proven to be victorious 90--88.
1 down and 3 to go.

In spite of injuries both major and minor, the upstart Indiana Pacers took game 3 last night 107--95 over the increasingly hapless New Jersey Nets.
A steller performance by Jermaine O'Neal, 37 points and 15 rebounds, led the hurting Pacers.
My pick for MVP goes to Scott Pollard. He only played 5 minutes but the entire flow of the game changed once he entered the floor in the second half. And the Pacers never looked back.
2 down and 2 to go.

The Pacers now find themselves down 3 games to 2.
But to be fair I shouldn't be too mad at the team for getting themselves into this position. Once again the wounded Pacers had 3 of their starters sitting on the bench tonight due to injuries.
How does a team deal with such bad luck and adversity?
Is there any team in the NBA that can overcome such a tragic turn of events?

I had the number of games right in how many it would take to complete the series, which was 6. I just picked the wrong team.
So another season that began with such high expectations has transpired into another disappointing and frustrating end for my beloved Pacers.
High notes of last nights defeat was the Pacers A. Johnsons heroic performance.
16--23 from the field (3--5) from behind the strip for a 40 point performance.
I hate to make excuses for this team, I have been doing it for the last two years. But for the last two games they had three of their starters in street clothes unable to play due to injuries.
How does a team overcome such diversity?
Even the seemingly unbeatable Detroit Pistons would not be able to overcome such a burden.
The way I see it; no one will be able to stop Detroit now that the Pacers season is through.

The Pacers would not have stopped Detroit either, although it would have been great fun to watch them get stomped all over by the defending Eastern Conference Champions for the 3rd straight year.
