I have seen them before, the cracked caps are very distinctive. I'm sure someone can ID them for you.
They are definitely not hallucinagenic though.

Those are Panaeolus retirugis.....some collections are mildly 'active'......some collections are not.....varies from cow pat to cow pat......the spore print will be black.....always take a spore print of all your shrooms before anything.....good job....careful....really good pic of those ones....
EDIT: here is a thread link that may aid in identification of Panaeolus retirugis http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...rue#Post5454770

Hey shromminDole,
I'm curious as to the criteria you used to distinguish these as P. retirugis from similar looking Pans.

At various stages of development for this group.....they can be totally inseperable macroscopically as is true for Copelandia....

I saw that earlier thread when it went down. The cracked cap is common in many Panaeolus species, and I have seen it in Panaeolina foenisecii during periods of low humidity after heavy rains.
For the sake of those who don't want to read the entire long thread you linked to, can you tell us why you think this is P. retirugis instead of say P. sphinctrinus?
