Why isn't WBS good for Noobs?

I'm thinking about trying my hand at growing some fungus, and I've been reading up on it on and off for the past 2 years. I see everyone saying that BRF-verm cakes are the way to go if youre new, but I'm interested in getting some WBS cakes going. Why aren't they recommended for noobs? Dragon

My first grow was with WBS and it went well very well.
First you need a PC,
Then you have to get the moister content correct. That is what most people have problems with so it seems.
So yeah I recommend WBS, never tried nor want to try PF.

its not reccomended for noobs because they tend not to follow directions and theres more steps for them to screw up if you've been doing your reading and can gather the resources (mainly, a PC... whereas brf/verm doesn't require a PC), then go for it.

im in the middle of my first grow and its goin well so far. i think they just say its not good for newbs to be very cautious. If you have a decent brain and follow directions you will be able to do it.

IMHO I have a decent brain, and I have all the things I need for the entire process except BRF. Already have a PC, jars, filter paper stuff, everything needed for agar cultures (minus the petri dishes, which havent arrived yet) everything for an incubation chamber and a fruiting chamber... so yeah, hopefully I will be good. And 7 types of spores. I suppose tomorrow I'll head out and get some good bird seed... Thanks for the quick replies btw, I'm a member of poppies.org and the responses here are lightning fast its unbelievable. Dragon
Also, I know a lot of people ask "what is the biggest, strongest, or easiest strain for a beginner" and I know the answer is mostly subjective, but I will ask anyway... out of Cambodians, Ecuadorians, GTs, African TRanskeis, Thai Elephant Dungs, PRs and Hawaiians, what would do the good folks here recommend? I thought about starting off with the Cambodians, GTs and Hawaiians, doing some WBS jars and agar cultures of each... I want to stay away from the PRs for now because I hear they are a bit picky.

I do love my pf teck.............
Many ounces worth of love, not much contamination and less dishes to wash and shit to buy.
The fruits had 4-5 flushes per cake and SOme of those flushes were massive. I dont tend to eat more than a dried ounce at a time(kidding), this worked very well for me. Paper towels and a trash can, all I ever needed. VERY potent shrooms. High yield per cake.
I dunked the cakes after each flush, and employed the mycelium-water technique to inoculate the rest of the many batches. The product yielded More shrooms than I could ever eat each time. Just depends on whether you are trying to make money off of it or not. For me, that was never my bag. Me and a few friends had are go with the cake form with more than a satisfying success. Over and over again.
Moral of the story(you can inoculate cakes with mycelium water). Thats all we really needed to know. We had enough space, and the shrooms were very strong when given a heat pad and the right humidity. Those were the good days. Simple, yet smart. MANY many cakes per batch........ ATe as many as we ever would have wanted. One cake could make us 70 others. We didnt like to trip all the time so this was ideal. If we wanted a heroic dose we would just take it.

1.Eq. 2.GT's 3.Haw.
Why?...Because they all look the same
Acually, my first trip was with GT's, at school back in the day, so ...GT's because if grown perfectly, they get really long and have nice golden caps( even tho you'll notice that pretty much all cubes have a yellowish/orangish/redish tint). And haw. b/c me and a friend have had some great experiences with them
They're all pretty much the same in terms of potency...Simply b/c potency is mainly determinded by what's in your substrate....
Good luck w/ the grow
