A Post-Hoc Vaccine for Cancer

Something came to me the other day.
Why not design a virus that subsists solely upon cancerous cells?
The virus could be injected into the patient.
It would 'eat' all cancerous matter.
As soon as all cancerous matter were eaten, the virus, having no food, would die.
It seems to me that with our genetic engineering capabilities, we should be able to do this.
The cure for one disease is often another.

meh, I'm not a geneticist, nor am I a pathologist.
I just come up with the general ideas. The specifics are up to you guys.
But I think that the Ebola virus would be a good place to start.
I mean, its a flesh-eating virus, right? If we can cross Ebola with Anthrax for the purpose of making a biological weapon, then surely we could tinker with the Ebola virus's taste in organic matter, right?

the biggest problem is that viruses mutate really fast and it could easily convert from eating only cancerous cells to regular ones too. There isnt that much difference in structure or chemical content.

How about a harmless virus full of TNT?
It would attatch to the cancerous cell, and then detonate.

Im so amused by that line of thought. As if universities all around the world arent trying to cure cancer just for the research and humanity of it. They have no monetary benefit in 'not' doing research. You can maybe say drug companies dont want a cure, but universities are good things.

True Universities are good things. But Drug company's are the ones who will eventually foot the bill for the FDA trails and getting the drug approved. Its just not in there best interest to cure anything the money is in treatment.

Why would they cure cancer when they get so much moeny from things like chemo, i mean, they wouldn't want us to take their hard scammed money away from them..
They also say their is a cure for diabetes but they make so much money off of insulin, why would they announce a cure for it that costs only a couple hundered dollars.
Another rumor on the aids virus as well.
Just some information that i have heard but makes loads of sense

So a university is going to make the cure, then the world is just going to allow it never be produced?
