Alrighty, Springs coming and its about the right weather for the shroomies to start growing however i do not have any in the area so i have decided to try to inoculate some of the cow fields here in the area (central Texas) I plan to feed prints to the cows, and shoot up the cow shit also. What would be the best strain or strains to use? Anybody experienced with this i could realy use your help.

i have read that if you use cakes then you can cut the cake up into smaller pieces and place them into some fresh cow - shit. However, only if your sure the cake isnt contaminated because if it is then that would defeat the whole purpase of the question.
equardor is said to be a very easy grower and B+ also but i'm not sure. if you grow with cake then just use the cake method but be sure thier not contaminated. Cakes turn all kinds of funky colors so just use your head and look up contaminates on the web and such or look on www.totse.com and look under drugs and psychedelics and look at some of the different shroom files they have and read them and they will tell you allot of interesting things...
let me know how it goes.

lol ! you said "feed print to a cow" . You can't be serious! HA HA
Oh but on second thought, that would actually work if the stomach acid doesn't burn it. I know the temp wont get hot enough to kill spores. But how about the acid.?
The Hawks Eye has an outdoor tek for field growing. Thats the only tek I know of. Its on the T.H.E. site.

mrdasani,
Don't laugh too much.
Yes you can feed a print to a cow.
Its been done before......with a print on a apple.
If i lived in a warmer climate.....i'd try the apple trick.
Cows eat grass...spores are in grass......cow takes shit.....mushooms pop up out of shit.
Cows are good at spreadin the spores.
Cows do not have a stomach like you or me.
In fact they have 2 stomachs.
So yes this could be done in theory.

after feeding the cow the print i would also knock up the patties as you plan but i would try a liquid mycelial culture so the colonization process is speeded up. i think fresh dung would be more suseptible to contam with flies and such landing on it. or just find some already dried cow patties in the feild and simply knock them up!

thanx for the help guys, the only hard part is convincing one of those cows to eat that apple, they run every time they catch wind of me. would dried cow shit still hold all the nutrients and such, or would fresh shit be better? Could someone give me a good link to making liquid mycelium?

actually i haven't tryed to feed the cows the print yet, but i haved lived in the same place since i was little and i used to play in the field and scare the shit out of the cows for fun. some people say cows are stupid but i swear to god one night they all circled my fince and started mooing all loud and shit so i set off a string of blackcats to show em not to fuck with me.

ah ah aha ahah a ha ha, Dude! Where the hell do you live? What are you doing hanging out in a cow pasture with fire crackers? Around here we usually go the movies for fun and shit like that, but I guess if you want to shoot bottle rockets up cows asses and try to feed them apples laced with mushroom spores and inject lumps of shit with a needle...... Well... Whatever floats your boat! Take some pictures!

Hey Anno.. this thread is funny as hell, but it did make me think about something. Why is it that as we grow shrooms in the home there is so many problems with contams and in the wild or in a cow pasture somewhere they can grow amongst cows, and flies the enviroment etc. Seems they are tougher to kill outdoors to me.

We grow the indors on highly nutitous substrates, something you would never encouter in the wild. Like brown rice, rye.... Dung isn?t a very nutritous substrate compared to rice.
Also in the wild mushrooms ofen unsucessfully compete with other microorganisms, but you only see them when they were successfull.
