I incubated my jars last night, i put a heating pad in a plastic droor, and layed the 6 1/2 pint jars down on it, stuck a water thermometer inbetween the tops of the jars, and covered w/ foil and layed blankets on top. When i awoke this morning the thermometer was all the way red, i felt the jars a they were kinda hott but not too hott to hold... The heating pad was set to medium, it is off now, i will later set it to low..
Does anyone think i killed the spores? I put alot inn...... Does anyone have tips, to better set up what i have? Fuck these were all the spores i had

could could have. especially becuase poepel normally inoculate so the spores run down the sides of the jar. this is why many recoment pople either make a real incubator or not bother. it won't tkae that much longer at room temp especially now that its spring and there is ZERO chance for eff ups like this.
you have to test your heating set up and also should put the thermometer o nthe bottom where the heat source is in your case. it would ahve been even hotter there. don't risk it just leave thenm at room temp! you vary well could have blown the batch and have to re inoculate. you'll know if 2 weeks i guess or less if they start to grow.

well the jars, have tiny drops of moisture on glass were subatrate isnt touching... They dont look too dry or wet... TIME is never on my side! Well i just have them at room temp now... I put all my spores into those 6 jars, like 5 caps worth, 3 syringes(black w/ spores) So hopefully if any did die it was only a few.... More feedback would be greatly appreciated, but TIME sucks...

wait how many cc's did you use on each jar? i hope you typed that wrong and you didn't use 3 syringes on 6 jars. also one pint is good for several syringes...

Well originally most jars were getting one cc, a little in each hole(four holes, some trhee, some one)But on a couple of jars i used adhesive for an ijection point, what i didnt realize is the vaccuum like sucktion it made? Sucking all the fluid right out, i even was holding the stopper/pusher!!!! It really pissed me off, i wanted to save a syringe in case of an accident like this, fuck!!!! So man do you think from 1pm to about 11am will hurt them? Why is too many spores not good?

It's not so much "too many spores" as it is too much water content.
The spores are suspended in water, and too much water can be a bad thing.

Heat pads tend to burn up jars as well. From what you have said you might have some problems. Time will tell. GL.

i use a heating pad, but it's ALWAYS on low. and it turns off by itself after a few hours. i also put some folded flannel pajama bottoms right on the heating pad, then the jars on top, then 1 leg of the PJs on top of the jars. stays at about 85

You should invest in a TiT incubator if you wanna incubate ever again.

I had a somewhat somewhat similar question recently. Maybe that thread will help out.

Too many SPORES in a container is perfectly fine, it's the liquid that carries the spores that can be a problem. So in a functional sense, yes, putting more than, say, 3ml/cc of spore solution into a jar could present problems.
A good way of telling is looking for pooling at the bottom. Pooling is bad. No pooling is good.
