Besides the ever popular CD in the microwave there are also some other fun things to do. Like an incandescent light bulb. I can't guarantee you that it won't break your microwave, but mine is still working fine.
More to come if you're interested
Word of caution! Do not touch the light bulb untill it has cooled down as it can sometimes explode. Glass shards in your hands is never fun.

I heard if you microwave a bag of chips, the vending machine sized ones, that they shrink down really small but you can still read everything.

This is what happens to a bag of crisps.

Yeah CDs were a lot of fun. But after a 100 CDs the fun started to decrease a little
A step up from a CD is a christmas tree ball (glass one). That gives a CD effect but then in 3D on a sphere

Well maybe not 100, but a lot. And once you put 5+ CD's in there at once it goes kinda fast.
btw the microwave is one of the best ways to permanently erase your HD. If you just format it multiple times special magnetic equipment can still read the underlying data.

Vending sized sunchips bag @ 10 seconds.

You can still read all the text, its crazy! The bag started to melt though, I think 7 seconds in my microwave would have been enough, the extra 3 seconds just fucked it up.

Gas Laser tubes are the best. Just dont do it in your house, or in a microwave you care about, lol. Actually, you might want to wear a welders mask if you wanna watch it too, lol.

It would be badass to put a metal can in the microwave, fill it with gas, and then have piles of flash powder all over.
