the pause, is it after releasing the clutch in the gear you've shifted into? if so, could be the plates "settling" if you will.... additionally, i know some ceramic components need a bit of heat before they grip well (i.e. brakes) not sure if the same holds true for clutches.
sorry to hear about the hose and the tire.... at least you have a bulletproof honda that outsmarted itself, rather than blowing up.

Yeah. I feel so lost I don't even care.
I'm at -$1400 something right now, if this were July. (I plan 2 months ahead on $$)
Not good.

That sucks man, I hope things work out for the best.
No way would I have been able to afford that.. my car isn't even worth as much as you spent to get yours fixed.

It fucking blows my mind. Yeah, this isn't a fuckin porche but it should be able to shift faster than an auto.
K, here is what happens.
I push the clutch in, move the stick to it's position, it stops for a sec (If I force it it will make a grinding sound), then it will engage like a peice of clock work, it feels amazingly different, much better, other than this god damn pause.

Thanks, I really like my little tuner car. It's sorta fast, has an awesome system, and well...it's hella fun. I know cars are a fucking money pit but I just love it.

Yeah, I know. I've calculated it out and I'll be more than fine, I've just hit a very rough spot. I'm moving to the east coast of the USA from the west soon, it's costing about $8000. That AND the fact that my brakes, exhaust converter, deck, tranny AND water hose had to be replaced in about a months time really fucking hurt.
I'm sure we won't be homeless but I feel lost.
And the $300 in software I need to buy, several websites, yada, yada...

i hear ya on both counts. i liked it too, but the pay was horrible. there's something satisfying about working outdoors.... i spent a few months in cubicle hell at a govt. job last year, afterwards i promised myself that i'd work outside whenever possible until i'm done with all this school.

The 3rd gear syncros went bad and they put in a brand new shifting housing and like a whole new 3rd gear assembly.
It's called "Affordable Transmissions" and is in the bad part of salt lake. They DID give me a 6 month 10k mile warrenty and are certified under some group. I think they tried to do a good job, the water hose was a mistake and I'll make sure they pay me what I paid out to fix it.
I just hope we don't have to be with out a car for a week again.

Is this on every upshift? Or only going into first? Or every downshift, or what?

Both. I seem to notice it more in the up shift but maybe that is because it pisses me off.

I just hope we don't have to be with out a car for a week again.
what comes to mind at the moment is: a.) misaligned shift linkage. i don't know if the s2000 is a cable or rod setup, but i know the cable setup on my old gti would give me problems between gears if there was some slack in the cable or the arm wasn't properly adjusted. b.) one of the synchros isn't seated properly; is it just certain gears (like into third) or between every gear? if this is the case, sometimes trannies just need a few miles to get everything meshed properly....
either way if the problem persists for more than a week or seems to worsen at all, you've got that warrantee so at least you can take it back to get dealt with.

I'm sorry I do not own an s2000 It's just a 2000 focus zx3 that's all pimpered out. I said it FEELS like an s2000 tranny.
It happens in every gear. Oh and when I put in reverse I have to push really hard, wtf?
Thanks for helping btw.
