mushrooms WANT to grow

I just started working with casings about a month ago. I had done cakes and a few other things but had decided to do a casing up to see what would happen. So i read a shit tek that said you could get good results cutting a cake in two and casing each half to get better yield.. this is just wrooooong. I know this now and it became mighty evident as the results were a bunch of lil tiny mushrooms. After the first flush i decided that i didn't want to waist my FC space with these crap casings so i took them out and put them aside in my work space. well i was cleaning up quick because i had fam coming over and i put the two old casings up on a shelf out of sight. and i forgot all about them. so yesterday I'm cleaning house, and i find th old casings. now these have been in the RH of my house normal, they haven't had any attention paid to them at all what so ever, they look as dry as fuck all. and they are working on a flush.
it had already flushed once, just two shrooms, but its got a nice albeit tiny flush starting right now. no sign of contam and they look healthy and gtg.
its odd all the effort and strain we go through trying to get these suckers to grow and the fact of the mater is they are just dieing to do it under any circumstance they can.. just thought it was kewl, someone might get a kick out of it

Looks like you need to pay more attention to your moisture content of your casing.
She looks pretty dried out to me.
Work on some frequent but not too overbearing misting and you might see much better results.
I think you should give casings a chance, you just have to have more patience with them colonizing and pinning.
In most people's opinions, it's well worth the wait and effort.
I wish you the best, and yeah cubes are more than willing to just keep on growing even when the odds are really against them, lucky for all of us!!

Yeah, no kidding.
They grew just fine without us for long enough.
Give em the right set up and back off.

i think you vastly misunderstood my original post.. these were garbage casings that i forgot to throw away. they were not in a FC or any type of optimum conditions for like 3 weeks... they were just in the RH of my home. soo i wasn't trying to grow these. they grew despite not having any of the optimum conditions we normally supply. no the ones i mean to grow turn out much... Much nicer that this..
