What artists / albums do you enjoy listen to while shrooming?
Depending on my mood I enjoy classics like The Beatles, Yes, and Pink Floyd Other times I dig into prog rock / metal like Dream Theater, Spock's Beard, Fates Warning, some tool and the like.
what about you guys?

Blind Melon, Nirvana Unplugged, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young...
kinda similar sounds to each other, I don't know how I would classify that, pop-ish folk-ish rock music?

wow there are not very many rap fans out there, thats allll i listen to. any way, i like alot of underground hip hop/rap, and especially this artist name brotha lynch hung, i swear his music is like made to trip you out while you listen to it on shrooms, and his production is unbelevably good. i've always wondered just how does music sound sooooo much better on shrooms? any ideas?

From the Shroomery, Level 1 effects:
Left/right brain communication changes causing music to sound "wider".
Probably related to why music sounds so good on cannabis.

IM? blech! - no thanks. Their older stuff (Converting Vegetarians and earlier) is allright, but their new stuff is horrible, I'd be hard pressed to even call their newest stuff psytrance.

Infected Mushroom isn't bad, but it's just too shallow for me to trip to; not enough depth in terms of moods and atmosphere. I like to listen to IM occasionally whilst stoned, but where IM really excels is those situations where I'm sober and doing work; it's really motivating music for programming.

vocal trance is like the easy listening techno. i like it as i like anything from classical music to opera, to heavy metal like cannibal corpse.
the techno i'm talkin' about is hardcore like delta 9, neophyte, scott brown, evil activities, endymion, etc. anyone hear of those???
the reason i think i like them is because the beat changes so much and they have some insane effects in the music.

Heard of them, used to be big into them a few years ago, stuff like that sort of acted as a 'gateway' genre from punk music to electronic music. Dont care much for them at all anymore, too brash/aggressive and uninteresting, just grates on my nerves now. Used to like it alot, but I can only take soo much heavily distorted 140bpm kickdrums at once.

Ishq is amazing! Matt Hillier, who is Ishq, Elve, Indigo Egg and Ishvara makes some of the best ambient ever. His Elve project is inspired by the mushroom kingdom.
My list of tripping albums....
Shpongle Banco de Gaia (DEFINTIELY checkout Magical Sounds of Banco de Gaia) Shulman Ott Entheogenic Kaabel Ozric Tentacles Tool Opeth Mars Volta

Yea I never thought I could ever like hardcore, im mostly jumpstyle, hardstyle, hardhouse. But on shrooms those high tempo kicks just make me feel crazy. I actually didnt like hardcore until I listened to it on shrooms. I always thought u had to listen to something soft or ambient, but I was wrong. Noize Suppressor bugs me out, same to JDA, the Neophyte like you said, DJ Promo, and last but not least Bass D & King Matthews.

vocal trance is like the easy listening techno. i like it as i like anything from classical music to opera, to heavy metal like cannibal corpse.
the techno i'm talkin' about is hardcore like delta 9, neophyte, scott brown, evil activities, endymion, etc. anyone hear of those???
the reason i think i like them is because the beat changes so much and they have some insane effects in the music.
Noize Suppressor bugs me out, same to JDA, the Neophyte like you said, DJ Promo, and last but not least Bass D & King Matthews.
hehe, i try to avoid the more abrasive sound that gabber tends to have when I use. I've had a music induced bad trip before, so ever since I've tried to stick with either vocal trance or HappCore - anything that is light and doesn't get too moody. Obviously tunnel trance is good too. Happy gabber is really nice if you're able to find any... has the more brash beats but is still happy. Jungle is always good
Amazingly Enough though I've yet to have a problem with Mindless Self Indulgence.. wacky freak out music

Off the top of my head, I've liked ambient/drone such as Caul, doom metal such as Morgion and Why Angels Fall, and some other harder to define stuff as The 3rd and the Mortal (Painting on glass).

Hell yeah, Om is one of my favorite groups ever, God is Good being my preferred album, followed closely by Pilgrimage.
Morphonix is awesome, I think they only have one album, unfortunately (Off the Grid). Good psy.
Also enjoy some Chopin.
If I feel like going balls out I'll throw on some Spawn of Possession. Intense, all over the place.
Acoustic music along the lines of Ulver's Kveldssanger, October Falls' Marras and Sarastus.
But nothing tops blasting Darkspace as loud as possible on DXM + green. Almost horrifying, but in a good way. (I know this is a shroom thread, but it had to be said.)

Darkspace with dxm sounds interesting too, you should try it with Uncertainty Principle's "The Litany Against Fear" next time.

Way back in the early days (for me anyway, the early days were the mid to late 70s) I liked Floyd, Moody Blues, Blue Oyster Cult, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple etc when I was doing my cubies.
More recently, I enjoy no music at all, I prefer complete silence or only the sounds of nature. I am also doing much higher doses and wood loving mushrooms, so things are much different.

my favorite trip cd's are shpongle: tales of the inexpressible
and kottonmouth kings: kottonmouth Xperience
those two cd's are my shroom love's. they bring out the love so fucking well. i think shpongle made me aware of some really really euphoric energies, i will feel them on a normal day not shrooming...this is why i believe the shrooms make u aware that u are one. i feel the love in everything on shrooms, but shpongle kills it as far as perfect shrooming music goes.

Of course I have. I am slowly building my psychedelic playlist as I hear songs. 95% of people would probably be jealous of my music collection. LOL.
Have you actually ever heard Thom Brennan?? This guy... this guy is FUCKING genius. If you can find much of his music, assuming you don't already have it, it is incredible. EXTREMELY minimal, but so detailed and vivid that it takes me places sober. GOOD stuff. Matt Hillier is also incredible. He has different stage names such as Elve, Colourform, Alien Mutation, and some others. Also VERY good whilst in a massive trip.

I've got into Matt's music through Ishq, good stuff! As for Thom Brennan, well, I've seen his name before, probably on one of those ambient web radios I often listen to, Ferngerms Sleeps or Moving through Space. I'll have to check him out further for sure. Speaking of sublime minimal stuff, you probably know about Alio Die? He's one of my fav composers; such deep mystical stuff. I can't get enough of it.

Played Robert Plant "Big Log" during my first journey. I always detested the song. It was the most beautiful thing I have heard! Can't get it out of my head.

I don't even know what just happened. After watching that I can't help but feel an aversion to the sound of the word shpongle. It makes me shudder. A friend of mine has a similar problem with the word "buttons".

I love shpongle but am I the only one who feels like a faggot tripping out and saying "I am a shaman magician, the sun is purple"? For me it's all about divine moments of truth.
Anyways, my shroom music;
lols but seriously. Quasimoto is unbelievable. Doom too but lib's pitch-bent voice is perfect for booms. Jefferson Airplane The Velvet Underground Sonic Youth Scooter Aesop Rock; especially Float, though I prefer Labor Days any other time of my life. Float is Hiphop History In Motion. Which is not to say that it's the history of Hiphop, but that it's literally a walk through history with a Hiphop tinge. Walk around with this in your ears on shrooms. It helped me become an adult. tribal house if I'm walking in a city, tech house if my room is really clean Mudvayne's LD50 (better on LSD though) 1200 Micrograms, specifically the song "The Creation", but the entire album The Time Machine holds a special place in my heart Noise/Drone like Merzbow, SUNN O))), Boris VOOREDOMS (BOREDOMS) - VISION CREATION NEWSUN AND SUPER Æ Uplifting/Epic Trance
I realize I've gone against the trend and left out the psychill but I prefer it on LSD or DXM and for the record, I say "feel like a faggot" as a man who's had sex with men.
For shits and giggles;
Luman, that happens to me a lot with "table".

Yeah I think I heard a name for it once too but I definitely don't remember it
Quick somebody come up with something simpler than "word for when you say a word in your head and it stops sounding like a word/makes you feel anxious" to google

That's fucking awesome.
What I was trying to convey was my inability to come up with a search term that expresses my question properly. I was unsuccessful in this venture (both conveying that message, and coming up with a search term)

I see now. I've been trying to decipher that for at least 30 minutes. I just couldn't contain the cumulative meaning of all those words in such a long sentence.

This is the best shroom music I've ever heard!! no joke! I'll turn this shit on with just my lava lamps going, and I went into the land of smurfs for 3 hours off of 18 grams fresh cambodians. This random as music freakin had my world dancing like gooey blobs of silvery blue... looked like the entire world was alive and bouncing to the music. Fucking coolest experience I've ever had!
-------------------- We think we have freedom, but we're all just mice in a maze.... FYI: I stole all my pix off google! F+ PORN! Here is a shit-ton of porn by yours truly! I have FINALLY written up a couple teks as to how SHP has done things in the past. DISCLAIMER: This is not for the newbie to mycology, and not going to work for everyone! This is simply what works for one person when other teks and methods have failed miserably! ~~~~~How SHP does their unconventional WBS Prep!! (NO DRY METHOD)~~~~ ~~~~~SHP's highly disputed method of doing ALL their work outside of a flow hood or a Still air box!~~~~~ ~~~~~Troubles harvesting the side and bottom pins in your mono? Learn how!! Dunking included ;-)~~~~~
