can i make a casing from sliced up cake say a pint cake-slice it four times put it in an opaque container and then case it with verm or something else? wouldn't slicing a cake rather then crumbling be better?as its less stress.

there is a tek for that however you must crumble some to fill in the empty spaces.
IMO it is better to crumble, there will be stress both ways but the
myc will recover it will be fine.

i like putting a bunch of cakes in a food processor... i somehow feel they deserve it, but then i spawn them to something else.
i don't see any reason why slicing them wouldn't work if you to layer it like a cake 50/50, slice, 50/50, slice...

beucase the casing is now providing a microclimate prime (hopefully) for pinning. this is more true to nature as you don't see cakes out in nature only pinning in 100% humidity.

cakes are better for 100% for casing you want 80-85%
with casings too high of RH causes problems, cob web overlay etc
