Lots. I don't recommend glass for mycology. You need so many dishes to get anywhere, you'll be dropping and breaking the heavy, slippery glass ones, not to mention they are quite expensive. You can get plastic pre-sterilized dishes for a dime each. It's hard to justify the effort to clean, wash and re-sterilize the pyrex dishes, then find a way to keep them sterile until time to use, just to save a dime.
You can get a box of 500 dishes at www.cenmed.com for $50. You'll get 25 sleeves of 20 sterile dishes in each sleeve. Best way to go, imo. RR

The link works. Their website must be temporarily down. RR

if you want reusable and plastic, polymethylpentene (polycarbonate) is the way to go, they can be steam sterilized with no ill effects

google for Nalgene petri dishes as wel as polycarbonate, they're all the same they can run as high as $110 for a 10 pack or as little as $70 for a sleeve of 20 if you shop around. more costly than glass but worth it for the breakage issue
the polystyrene one are quite cost effective, another item of interest is culture flasks I bought about 60 from ebay for $12

Yeah, you can never have too many. I go through a case every couple of months. The plastic ones are cheap and convenient.

You can try small wide mouth jars in place of petri dishes if you are having trouble finding them.
