Imjecting water during colonization?

I am waiting for my cakes to colonize, it has been like 10 days and yet no growth. I know it is lacking water..can i inject some water?

injecting water aint gonna help a damn thing. if you're lucky enough not to inject contaminates along with it, its just gonna mush up the area near where you inject, and leave the rest dry. if you *know* its lacking water, you need to give up on them and start again with the right amount of water.
if there's no growth at all though i somehow doubt its water, i'd take a closer look at all of your procedures to see what else might have gone wrong.

thats about how it should look.
assuming you followed a recipe in one of the teks there should be enough water. doesn't take much. too much is bad.

you know what my dumbass did? i measured out 3 cups of water for my 12 jars first, THEN i boiled it with no top on! i think i lost too much right?

I'm no expert by any stretch but I'd say that yes, that's a Very Bad Thing. I'd start again. But I'd also wait for someone more experienced to second that.
