Need help

And a few answers to some questions Anyways, I received my 125 watt dual spectrum HPS/MH light. I also have a seed packet of Nirvanas Northern Lights. I am planning to germinate them on a wet paper towel in a ziploc and put it in a dark place. Then place the seedlings rootside down into peatcups filled with verm/coir/peat do I need any fertilizers during this stage?
Also my light turned out to be alot bigger than I thought and the only way I can fit it in the closet is by placing it vertically, will this screw with growth?
Also I was wondering if anyone knew a good way to cover the light cracks in a cabinet sort of setup, and I also heard that putting a dish under the pot for drainage is bad for roots? How do I go about drainage without a mess?
And lastly, I own an ozonator for refrigerators, will this be useful in my flowering period, or do I have to buy something expensive and complicated?
Sorry for all the questions, but this is obviously my first time and I want it to be awesome, so all your help is greatly appreciated.
*edit* Sorry one more, how important is light cycle? I do not plan to leave the light on 24/7?

For VEG the light MUST be on at LEAST 18 hours. And for flowering the light needs to be on 12 hours and off 12 hours.

while i dont think any harm would come from 24/7 lighting during veg, 18/6 seems to be sufficient....
Why not just start your seeds in 6inch pots? Less transplanting that way......
As for ferts, i would just grab a bag of good potting/container plant soil....that way you wont have to fert until a ways into the veg cycle....
For drainage....a dish under the pot is fine....but either put an inch of gravel in the bottom of the pot or in the dish under the pot to avoid overwet roots and fungus.
For light cracks.....try weather seal strips.
If you have a sealed cab/closet, heat is going to be a big concern....Do a test run with no plants and monitor the heat....that way your not wasting your seedlings.
Good luck

Then place the seedlings rootside down into peatcups filled with verm/coir/peat do I need any fertilizers during this stage? Put in soil. Put suran wrap over the top of the cup to make a little green house. Do that once the seed is in place. bury the seed to twice it's depth. If the seed is 5 mil large then bury it 10 mil deep. some say up some say down been heaaring that crap since the 80's so just put it on it's side and it's worked out fine.
Also my light turned out to be alot bigger than I thought and the only way I can fit it in the closet is by placing it vertically, will this screw with growth? Yes and it's gonna fuck with the bulbs.
Also I was wondering if anyone knew a good way to cover the light cracks in a cabinet sort of setup, and I also heard that putting a dish under the pot for drainage is bad for roots? How do I go about drainage without a mess? Million ways to block light and the saucer is fine.
And lastly, I own an ozonator for refrigerators, will this be useful in my flowering period, or do I have to buy something expensive and complicated? Depends on how many plants you have. That thing won't help you need to look into filter set up's
18/6 for veg 12/12 flowering

Most bulbs (MH and HPS anyway) are made to be run horizontal or vertical. You take about 75% of there life when run the other way. On the bulb next to the wattage rating will be a "h" or a" V". Some bulbs can be run both ways they will have a "U" on them.

Ok all 5 have sucessfully sprouted, I also just bought some dried blood, I hear bonemeal doesnt do much. My new plan is to dilute some shultz potting soild with fertilizer added with verm/coir/peat/perlite mixture. Then add 1/8 amounts worth of blood. Does this sound ok to use through all 3 stages?

Ok so I germinated and put them in styrofoam cups and plastic wrap over the top. The day after, the sprouts got greener and longer, so I put some more soil around it to make it shorter. One of the sprouts is missing one of its round leaves (forgot what they were called) Is there a good chance this plant will survive?
PS Awesome pics skip!

alright...right off the bat, if your seedlings are getting really long stems(this is called stretching) then you want to get them more light, or bring your light closer to them.
You want them stout, with little space between leaf nodes as the plants grow upward.

Im having a bit of a problem, one of my sprouts has really tiny middle leaves, and another is beginning to yellow towards the center. There were oyster shells in the casing mix I used to sprout them in. Was using casing mix a bad idea?
PS Also does anyone know a good cheap method of keeping a small grow space cool? Perhaps a tiny fan?
