Across the street I found a couple more similar ones, but they're more pointy, like a nipple.
Please help?

Are the conocybe ones active?
Also, could it hurt to eat the inactive ones?

the ones in the picture i think are safe to eat but take a spore print and tell us the color.
cut the stem from the shroom, lay the gill side down on paper and tell us what color appears from dropping spores, itll hopefully be brown or near black looking (brown)
conocybes are inactive and as far as i consider non eddible, i belive some are poisonous.

These are not safe to eat. Conocybes can be deadly poisonous. Panoleus are generally not edible. And we are not 100% on the IDs anyway. Never eat LBMs (little brown mushrooms) unless you are 100% sure what they are.

I dont think those are conocybes, But im pretty certain that those are pan foes. Inactive, and please dont eat unidentified mushrooms no matter what. Before i eat any mushrooms especially ones like subbalteatus which are very difficult to identify for a beginner i spore print them and make sure.

noflashlight, your pictures are too blurry to be sure of anything.
they do appear to be a non-active species of Panaeolus. -make spore prints, they should be the color black.
i believe all species of non-active Panaeolus are harmless if eaten, but it would be poor form to actually eat them just for the hell of it..

The spore prints for the original ones are jet-black. Does that mean they're active??

No dude. They're an inactive species of Panaeolus mushroom. Stop trying to make them active, they're not.

Definitely not, that much was certain after the first reply. It means they probably won't poison you. But the ID is not 100% so that means you should certainly not eat them. Buy some mushrooms at the shop if you're hungry.
