Paranormal Sightings

One argument that I have heard frequently is, "Just 'cuz some are wrong doesn't mean a zillion people can all be wrong!"
Can't they? Aren't all Elvis and Jesus-in-a tree sightings in error?
Hasn't Nessie been thoroughly debunked demonstrating that all sightings were either waves, shadows or otters?
Humans perceive alike, so why does a greater numbers of sightings give greater credence?

my friend, we just underestimate the importance of waves, shadows and otters. in these disruptions of reality the human eye can see a glimpse of what lies deep inside the brain, the unconscious, soul or spirit, and even further behind.

dis·rupt Pronunciation (ds-rpt) tr.v. dis·rupt·ed, dis·rupt·ing, dis·rupts 1. To throw into confusion or disorder 2. To interrupt or impede the progress, movement, or procedure of 3. To break or burst; rupture.
in the shadows you can easily mistake something for something else. the imposed order of reality is broken because of your error. you can call it the fall of man. but the interesting thing is that this single moment of confusion is in itself an opportunity to surpass your previous state. right now you may believe a wave to be just a wave. until you make the mistake of taking a wave for something else, you'll never open yourself to see the multiplicity of things a wave can be. eskimos have 30 different words for what we call snow. have you ever inspected meticulously the patterns of snow flakes? there are multiple worlds inside something as simple as a snow flake. imagine now the multiple dimensions that can be opened in a human being...

Reality continues unbroken and unimpeded. What may be "disrupted" is the relative accuracy of our perception of reality.

What does this have to do with the topic started by the lovely Sporetacus?

This post debunking the paranormal is coming from the same guy who posted this in his telekinesis thread in MR&P a few weeks ago?

I see it says swashbuckler under your user name. I remember a swashbuckling pirate that was boarding our ships a while back.
I also remember someone who liked to use the Elvis sighting argument to debunk all other paranormal sightings.
Sporatecus, there was once this member here who talked a lot about the importance of consistency in life and used his racquetball game as an example with getting his swings consistent. I wonder if he would support using consistency in swings with playing games like, oh say, puppetry.
Anyway, I agree with your spirit here that debunking paranormal sightings of things that first look to be one thing but are really another is fun.

Spotting puppets at the Shroomery is hardly paranormal.

Telekinesis is an ability, not a sighting, my dear. The rest of your post does not make sense nor relate to the topic.

Telekinesis is an ability
An imagined ability.
Ever wonder why telekinetisists (is there such a word?) can only move things designed from the outset to catch and move at the SLIGHTEST breeze, even the exceedingly slight ones caused by a warm body sitting still?
Ever try to move your pinwheel while it's hermetically sealed inside a large pickle jar where only real telekinesis and not warm rising air currents could move it?

again, my friend, reality does not exist. only life interdependent and yet miraculously free to see as it wills.
