Back from a Sweatlodge

I usually help a friend of mine out with his sweatlodges. He's a Lakota Native and usually every weekend he has a lodge. Pretty fun too, usually a lot of weed (well, between him, another guy, and I) and then we get going.
I normally just help with the fire. You have to make a huge bonfire to heat up the stones to place in the lodge. Then, I carry then in there on a pitch fork and place them in the middle. He'll sing in Lakota and toss water on it. Makin' it a fucking HOT sauna. I can't stay in there for the full time. Feels like I'm being roasted. But, its awesome way to get cleansed.
He'll bless us and after that we'll all have a huge dinner together and get blazed. Well, I didn't smoke tonight. Tolerance break.
But, its just an awesome experience that I get to be apart of. Actually, starting to learn a little Lakota as well. Pretty fun.

lol, I know about that. He has these light weight/pourous rocks that hold heat well and never explode. Wouldn't be that dumb.
I usually just hit the gym and then go to sauna there. But, his lodges are just so damn hot. Fun though.

He built his own lodge. He's damn good at carpentry. Thick canvas, wooden supports, all tied down with buffalo robes. Pretty badass.

concrete chunks generally work well for the rocks.

Nice. Cause the stones he has are awesome. But, when they get white hot and you drop 'em they tend to just break into small pieces. Not explodes, just crumble.

Yea, Lakortas are generally up in South Dakota. He just moved down here about 20 years ago.
I forgot the native tribe that's around here, though.
