This not really a discussion, but I'd just like to share something...
Last evening I took this long walk..
It was getting dark, after a cloudy day, everything was very blue, but still revealing different shades of color in trees and grass. As I live on the edge of city, far from the noisy light-poluted center I have the benefit of having city on one side and nature of another side. So I headed for nature. There was still enough light to look at pretty textures of distant dense foliage. And then it was compleatly DARK, and I was somewhere in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by this dark texture of plants everywhere. There was a strong smell of wild nature, trees, flowers. The smells of dark summer nights, the mystical summer nights that are going to come in a few months. I remember, I'd be pretty scared normally, on my own far from houses, and streets in the deep dark night, but this time I didn't feel alone, I felt like I'm being watched by every plant around me, like suddenly I was wakaned in this world full of life, which has remained hidden to me before, and which is invisible to others. And really, all those plants are living beings. There is so much life around. So through smells and sound of silence I felt as if the night is a warm and dark place full of life, full of mistery, seemingly boring but really so much deeper and alive than streets of cities which project false image of a "happening".
The night, the plants around me, the smells of flowers, it all felt so aincient, like, that's what was before me and that's what will be here after me for ever, and that's what I'll be after I die, a warm smell of leaves on trees in a summer night, and the eternal gentle sound of wind shaking those leaves.
Everything was radiating some energy, as if every plant was singing a song for me with its smell. It was calling me, calling me to lay down in the grass and bushes and below trees and die, join the collective (un)consciousness of all that around me and be there for ever, singing a song to another soul that might pass there in some night in a thousand years in the future.
It was such a strong feeling, such a mental trip..
that place, for its special wibe, I call my church.
any similar experiences or special places?

I believe "primitive" man knew this state well. I have found myself there often when on psychedelics. It's mostly a lost art amoung humans who live too much inside there heads. I include myself.

I was out yesterday in the park late at night. Although, it wasnt as spiritual an experience, I was just cutting through to get to another area of town. Finding a place away from the rummage of cars and constant noise is always very nice. Try climbing a tree and saying a prayer. I always find that very spiritual, as if Im closer to heaven. When I used to live out east, I would go to the beach on summer days and sit and listen as you did, without worries, just trying to be at peace. I still remember and miss those days, I can somtimes catch a glimpse of it when I escape the constant duty of life's responsibilities.
"that place, for its special vibe, I call my church." - Thats cool
