My first grow..
light 400W, 18h/6h day 1, I got the plants from a growshop for $2,5 a piece.

day 5

the tent I use to keep the humidity ~80%

The harvest will only be for my friends and me, we don't plan on dealing.
So what do you think, are they doing alright? Will keep you updated.

Looks good so far...
I'm curious as to why you feel it necessary to keep the humidity at 80%, as it seems the clones are already rooted and established...
From what I gather, marijuana is not a plant that requires high levels of relative humidity and it's probably best suited at an "average" RH (whatever that may be in your region, generally around 60-70% I believe) and you especially don't want it to be super humid when they begin to flower as that would obviously open up the door and invite mold in...
I had one plant that was subjected to a little more humidity than the others, and probably had a weak genotype in regards to mold resistance, and it got that nasty systemic mold that works from inside of the bud out... horrible, just horrible.

The humidity is just temporary. When I plant them in the soil in two days, the tent will go. I was advised that high humidity was good when the plants were young. That way they don't sweat out all their fluids or something.

No it was $2.50 per plant. One 400W, might change it next growth, but I hope it'll be enough. Electricity isn't that cheap where I live, one of the highest rates in Europe.
What do you mean by switching them? They're gonna be planted (two days from now) in the one big grow tub where they are laying on right now.

i think he means switch the light cycle.
Looking good man, like already stated, if your clones are rooted already you dont need a humidity tent.
a 400 watt light will work just fine, especially if you're working in a small area. Im using a 430 watt HPS for a 4x4x7 area.

I've read on multiple sites that high humidity is good (not necessary) for the root/grow phase. The clones have only been in the ground for 5 days now.

yep switch to flower i meant sorry 2.50 a plant is still pretty damn good i grew 5 under a 400w in a square metre and got some sort of cobweb mould so just make sure you have plenty of room around each plant and plenty of air circulating with a fan and you should be set

Well, if the clones weren't rooted when they were sold to you then you will need the humidity tent. Otherwise you dont really need it. Either or, good luck man, wish i could pick up clones for 2.50 a piece

They were rooted in this stuff, don't know the English name for it. They haven't rooted through the pots yet, at least I don't think so. Do you think I could unpot one and check out the roots?

This is day 6 and there might be a problem, it looks like the edges of the new leaves are yellowing. I did move the light a little lower so that may be the problem. And the temp was almost 30C today, I quickly started venting and it went back to ~25C. Input?
This is under camera flash (white light)

This is under the grow light

OK, thanks, I'll keep an eye on the temp. Only problem is that my thermostat isn't hooked up yet, so I'll just have to check often. I want to hook the thermos up to the ventilation so that there's always a small airflow (low voltage to the ventilators) and only when the temp reaches a certain point will the full ventilation kick in.

if you are really worried about the roots get superthrive. i use it in every grow now. it is mainly a form of vitamin b1 and some other stuff in lower doses but it's a root stimulant.
i have done a few experiments to see if it shows male plants first and to my surprise it did. you can use it on female plants also right up till the week before harvest. then it's a good idea to flush any sort of fertilizer out of the plant with 100% water for the last week of life.

Time for an update if you guys are interested. Today (day 8) we've planted the plants into our soil tub. While replanting we could really see that the plants had built a nice root system. Also the day and night cycle has been switched. So the lights are off during the hottest part of the day. Lights are on from 18:00 to 12:00. This really helps with the temperature problems.
the pictures were taken with the lights off.

Not true in fact it's why the leaves started to turn yellow. As soon as they root you want them out of humid conditions. The best indoor strains come from places not to know for humidity unless Afghanstan has a hidden rain forest I don't know about.
