dont take my word for it im just tryin to learn more about shrooms but they look like the subs i found today..i found a bunch of subs that were very moist n alot of blue showing through the stem n the outside of the cap...my spores were pretty clean so ive cut a few n left the caps over night for a spore print...i also found another lot of shrooms that looked like the subs aswell but only have red bruising all up the stem..no sign of blue at all..i was told last week they were no good or were hard to tell..so ive left them alone...for now..these were the ones i got that showed alot of blue
im not sre with your ones sorry..hope ive been of some help to you.

They are defenitely not subs. In the first picture, the cap somewhat resembles one of a Sub, however the stem shape and colour and the lack of blue bruising rules out a sub.
The following two photos are of a different mushroom than the first and once again defenitely aren't P. Subaeruginosa. Cap is off, stem is off, nothing really matches up.
Consider them poisonous until told otherwise

Actually those are Stropharia aurantiaca and they are quite poisonous but grwo in similar spots to subs.
As for australiana - all the subs from WA, SA and Victoria fit its microscopic profile perfectly - but it has been proven to be synonymous with subaeruginosa - as a species it is a misnomer.

You sure thats stroph aurantiaca BM? I find them all the time and they are a very bright and vivid red with obvious red staining on the stipe.
Im not sure if they vary from place to place and change colour with temperature etc but they dont look like any stroph aurantiaca that ive found???

Notice the bulbous bases, that's one way of differentiating besides bluing.

yeah its a guess but the stem colour seemed right even if the cap wasnt as red red/brown as id expect.

I'd say a correct guess - Stropharia aurantiaca was the first thing that popped into my head.
