 My very first "all glass on glass"

So check it out...my first all glassonglass setup. I call it "Smaug", like the dragon in the Hobbit. Thing is a heafty sob, and with the ash catcher and ice notches...really hits hard! Got everything from the piece, diffusor, ashcatcher (2 piece) and matching bowlpiece locally for $220. Considering shipping costs of gong stuff online...and the wait for overseas shipping..ungh..So this is the best I could do for right now... 
Main shot...hm..volcano or Smaug...decisions decisions..
The diffusor...
Pretty thick tube..measures 1/4 inch thick at the top!
The main joint...eh..it's no ROOR...
Well, it hits unlike any piece I've ever tried...so smooth, hardly any pull is needed...it produces thick smoke no matter what, and it's deffinatley going to be my new favorite for a long, long time!!!

My friend once had a bong he called Smaug. We waited on it for a whole summer, and it didn't even come with the things the guy said it would. Plus it broke by falling onto some carpet! CARPET! Then, the bong was named Snapdragon and never spoken of again. Fer shame.

can somebody explain to me what glass on glass means? ive never really understood what its all about and how its so special.

Glass on glass is another term for "scientific glass on glass"
*Basically its used in laboratory's to attach glass and have a TRUE air tight seal. It was adopted by water pipes a while back... like 5yrs or so.
*Glass on glass is BY FAR THE BEST WATER PIPE!
I will never go back to a regular water pipe with rubber seals. To top it off its popular to have ash catchers and diffusers
*Ash catchers are a separate bubbler that traps the ash from going into the piece (Nice for keeping it clean)
**Diffuser is a down steam with slots cut into it to DIFFUSE the smoke, allowing a SMOOTH HIT!
Any piece that has both a ash catcher and a diffuser is unlike any water pipe out there.
Personally I have a $350 Jerome Baker (rare) / $35 ash catcher a $55 ash catcher / and a $30 inside out glass bowl.
When I get chron (which is rare since I just moved) and smoke out of it... I get BLOWN! sooooo high.... believe me you cant get that high off of a regular piece!
I used to live in Southern California where you can go to the beach and get some of the BEST deals on water pipes. Man I miss the beach already....

Haha neither did I untill I started to research..
Glass on glass means that all the joints/places where diffrent parts connect are all sealed with just glass.
The glass seals are tapered and frosted so that they make an absolute 100% airtight seal.
That diffusor really, really breaks the smoke into tiny little bubbles, and makes the draw feel very very "smooth". No "chuga-chuga-chuga" feeling/sound when you clear it. Just a little light "pfffffft" feeling/sound.
The advantage is that with the ash catcher, difussor, and some ice I can take hits that are about twice as large in my other bongs.
I compared a regular grommet/slide bong to this as "a honda accord vs. a lexus es"
Seriosuly, this bong is going to make me even MORE O.C.D about my pot smoking
