Those cakes do not look, in any way, normal. I'm with the majority on this one, toss em all and disinfect your FC.

I threw out both cakes on the pictures. I inspected the other cakes and they dont look like the other 2. Theres a few small yellow stains but nothing serious.
I'm not looking forward to cleaning out that fruiting but I suppose I'm going to have to do it sooner or later.
Is it possible to experiment with possibly infected mushrooms without killing yourself or making yourself too sick by consuming tiny amounts?

dont do it! a few yellow stains huh that doesn't sound good either, from the look of those cakes i would say that anything sharing the same space doesn't stand much of a chance.

would you eat moldy yellow and brown bread??? no you wouldn't.
why would you want to experiment on yourself. sounds like your gonna end up killing yourself trying to have a good time.
i'm not trying to be an asshole here but i'm concerned about you eating shit that could potentially kill/poison you. it's not safe

Depends how moldy it is. I've eaten bread with blue or green mold on it lots of times and never got sick but I have no idea what kind of chemicals this yellow and purple shit will send to the mushroom so I'm not going to risk eating it. I was just wondering if people can test a mushroom to see if its poisonous by ingesting extremely low amounts of it.

It's been in the fruiting chamber for about 2 months now. Theres a dry verm layer on the other end of the cake with the puss bubble. The verm layers a little darker than it was before but doesnt look green at all.

Jonnyjonjonjon, you are nuts. I and everyone on this forum are skeptical of what you consider "normal" or "healthy" at this point. Post pics of these yelow cakes... you know, the "normal" ones and let us have our say. I mean, the majority is frightened for you. I really hope you do not share these with people or eat them yourself.
Lastly, why the hell are you eating moldy bread?!??

That looks like some kind of Mycogene sp. or "wet bubble".
Quote:
Bubble The most conspicuous symptom found is described as a globe-like mass of mushroom tissue, a dry bubble, Figure 1. A single mushroom or a cluster of mushrooms can become a spherical mass of infected tissue covering an entire infected area. Occasionally as the diseased tissue ages, a few amber drops of liquid may form. These liquid drops often cause confusion with another fungal disease, wet bubble, caused by Mycogene sp., Figure 2. However, the difference is that only a few infected mushrooms exhibit the amber drops and for those that do, it is often only a few very small drops. Wet bubble is characterized by large and numerous amber drops covering the mass of mushroom tissue. The bubble symptom usually indicates an early and severe infection of the mushroom pin or even before the pin is visible. The early infection disrupts the growth of the mushrooms tissue preventing it from developing into differential shapes of the stem and cap.

Btw, i wouldn't trust those cakes ...

I actually just found a similar spot on one of my invitro jars. Kind of odd that so rare a contam would pop up this week in the forum and I would indeed see it in reality. The spot on my invitro (did 2 invitro jars for the hell of it) was tiny in comparison to yours, but no less disturbing to find.

MAIA that wet bubble thing sounds exactly like what I've got. The cakes still on the window sill. All the amber droplets have dried up but it looks like the bubbles still growing.

Those are def some nasty looking cakes...possibly the nastiest I have ever seen. I would not eat anything off that cake. And you don't want to be responsible for letting somebody else eat it. Throw it away and clean the shit out of everything.
Good luck next time.
