First outdoor trip of the season :)

Well, the past few months have been awfully chilly, and most of my trips have either been inside, or at a club/party. While I'd generally try and make a point of going for a walk outside during my trips, they were still mostly indoor trips.
Tomorrow, unless my plans change - planning on heading down to High Park in Toronto with a few g's of mush in hand (well, lemon-mush juice :P)
Looking forward to it, never been to High Park before, but apparently its one of the nicest parks in Toronto, and from the pics of it - looks awfully pretty

Probbly head down around the afternoon, and start with about 1.5g worth of the lemon juice, see how that goes - and maybe take some more, but get a feel for the strenght of it first before I go upping my dose.
pre-loading my ipod with some of my favorite sets, and some new stuff to listen to -- going to be alone, so will be able to sit and relax and not worry about anyone else.
I hope its as nice tomorrow as it is today (currently 17c with a high of 22 and mostly sunny)

Yep, will have my backpack with me with some fruit, juice, a blanket. I'll probably wear jeans and a t-shirt, but pack up an extra sweater just incase I start to get chilly, dont want a cold breeze ruining my trip :P
Now today, is just the pre-trip planning. Deal with some resume stuff, apply for another job or two, do a follow up on an interview I had last week.
I'm currently on the job hunt right now, and since the end of school every day I've pretty much been spending all day looking for jobs / writing cover leters / etc and not letting myself relax since the end of classes. Figure I'll take tomorrow as a 'me' day, then get back at the job hunt on wedns.
Also just signed up at the gym again, had a great workout this morning and feeling perky because of it, so all around my mindset is pretty good.

Ive had a few partial outdoor trips this year due to warm days here and there, but no actual planned outdoor adventures. Nothing beats a day in the forest.
I think the next sunny weekend my friends and I will be heading up to Devils Backbone in the middle of shawnee forest in IL. Great place with lots of trails, lots of nature, and of course the beginning of a massive fault line (devils backbone).
I have my ipod loaded with infected mushroom right now...im sure that will work for a trip
Have fun and start the summer tripping season off right!

Well, just starting to dethaw my lemon juice expirment.
I had soaked them all day yesterday, and for a short while in a hot water bath. Then froze them over night, now just re-heating them, once thats done I'll strain out the solid material, pack up my stuff and head on out.
Looking forward to it, initially I was going to try and find a friend to come with, but in the end decided I wanted a little 'me' day/trip and be able to asorb myself in it and not have to worry about other people with me.
I've had too many trips latley at clubs/parties or in social-group settings with other people, and looking forward to a solo trip.

Well, the trip ended up being far weaker then I was hoping for, but at the same time - I think I enjoyed it more at how intense it was, then if it had been as intense as I was aiming for (if that makes sense)
Did a little over 3g in lemon juice, strained the material, and just drank the juice - no solids. Barely noticable visuals, but colors popped, subtle - but there.
Had a great walk around the park for an hour or two, looking forward to going back there in the future. It really is a beautiful location, and the cherry blossom trees were stunning.
Decided to come home after an hour or two, as I was starting to get a bit bored of wandering around outside and the trip is pretty weak. Initially was bummed out about comming home to
- a messy house - no job - bad day time TV - nothing to do
But, on the trip home while dwelling on this, I got a few great ideas of how to do a website for my resume and show off some of my web development skills.
I've been running into a problem of : all of my past work is either no longer in service (been changed since I last worked on it to stuff that doesnt show what I did), or, all been internal/intranet type stuff that isnt accesable to the public.
So, I've been feeling like I've been saying "Hey, I have 3+ years of web development expiernece, but no - I cant show you any of it" (which kinda sucks).
But, got thinking of a neat way of doing my resume online to show off some HTML/CSS/web standards/etc/etc so I'll have a URL to point people at to prove that I know what I say I know.
So, wrote down some notes/sketches of the website, now just sort of riding out the last little bit of the mushroom trip waiting to start coding it, and hoping my BF comes online soon so I can pass some ideas by him and get him to do the graphics for it (as he's a graphic designer)
and .. in turn, will be a big help for him, as he's in the same boat as me : he wants to find a new job, but all of his work for the past two years has been porn (he works at a pornsite), and is having a hard time forming a portfolio to show off his skills as it's all gay porn.
Sooo, get him to do the design for my site -- gives him some material for his portfolio to help in his job hunt.
anywho, rambling .. in short
- less intense then I had initially hoped for but, enjoyed it more then I think I would if I had it as intense as I was aiming for - bit of a bummer dwelling on work stuff, but eventually lead to some good ideas in the end
all around, very poistive trip, I'm going to save the filtered mush material and try tripping off of it later (in a week or two, going to freeze it) and see if there was any active stuff left in the material I normally disgard.
but, enough rambling for now, sorry.

Thanks, I have a few possabilities lined up, but they are still in the interview jump through hoops phase.
I am now feeling like I am in a limbo of - should I try and find a "McJob" in the meantime as a fill in job? or if I should remain jobless and keep looking for a real job?
Like, should I apply at Tim Hortons just to get some cash flow comming in, but still look for an IT/development job? or should I just hold out untill I get the job I want?
I'm thinking I'm going to hold out, and use the free time to brush up on my html/css and programming skills, they have gotten a bit rusty over the school year (Funny, I'm going to school for this stuff, but during the school year I actually get worse at it).
I'm not hard up for cash at the moment, have lots of savings (thankfully), and a student line of credit. And, if I get the job I'm going after, I'll be making around 20/hr -- do I really want to waste my time on a job thats gunna pay 7.50 an hour that I'm only going to be at for a few weeks untill I move on?

next time don't put juice in the freezer i from lemon juice thread it seemed like people who did do that tend to have weaker trips or no get nothing out of it whatsoever

Yeah, the freezing thing is the only thing I did different from the 1st time I did the lemon juice thing, and the 1st time it worked amazing - so I was kinda hyped up to do it again.
Ahwell, all around I really enjoyed the trip, the subtle nature of the trip allowed me to have a bit more control over it and sort of clear out some mental garbage I had going on.
Instead of being left feeling 'spent' after a super-intense trip, I found myself feeling energized, motivated and focused and got alot done on a project once I came down.
Hell, I was working on it while still tripping actually took a little extra effort, but wasnt too bad.

I've only ever been near Toronto once, and that was Tradeau (sp?) park outside of Tweed. Still though, there was some abesolutely beautiful scenery. You Canucks really luck out in the scenery dept it seems
