Agreed... a small once and done investment on some supplies can enable you to grow for months, even years. When i first started, the only thing that I got kit-wise was some premade PF jars since it was all but impossible for me to find vermiculite. Once I managed to get my hands on a 10 lb bag (more vermiculite than any sane being could ever use for jars) I was set. I've been doing everything alone since.
Basically the reason everyone is telling you to do things on your own is because A) its cheaper, and B) since you're a novice, it'd be easier for us to help you if you don't have black box parts in your kit that you don't understand. If you don't understand what the parts are, we can't help you if something comes up. You'll be much, much happier if you do everything the different-but-almost-as-easy way.

Listen asshole, the Mycodome worked for me and gave me the confidence and results to branchout and research other teks and build my own system. I learned a lot from the dome. Remember asshole, if he fails at his first atempt he may give up. I was only trying to relate to him my experiences and a foolproof method. Fuck you and anybody that looks like you! jackflash

The littleguy.com has good prices and quick service along with a great selection of spore syringes,microsporetech.com and spores 101 are also good venders.I bought a Mycodome a few months ago and they have a great support team and forum. I you want to be success your very first time, the Mycodome is THE way to go. Good luck and peace and happiness, jackflash
...Sounds like a sales pitch to me. Your best bet is NOT a small, 200 dollar grow kit. If you made your own stuff, then you could get 20 times more than a mycodome could ever grow. And have enough money left to donate to the shroomery....;)
You forget how many times you failed before you knew enough to grow 20 times what the dome produces. I was only trying to use the dome as an educational tool. And they can be bought for as low as $170. Jesus Christ ,I was trying to help him and everyone is trying to crucify me for telling him a couple of bucks more would insure success and he could learn what goes on when he grows them. Remember, when you crucify me you can have two Easters for your junior high vacations. jackflash
