Soon I will be going on a six day hike and I was wondering if there is any way of preserving any mushrooms that I might find for six or so days without refrigeration or sealing? How well would they hold up in just a paper bag? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If that does work I could definatly bring a jar and then just throw it in my backpack. The tempature might get to about 30'C though. Is that O.K.?

Your best bet is drying.
The last thing you want to do is put them in anything airtight (or nearly so) where they might "sweat" moisture. The excess moisture will provide a great habitat for bacteria to rot the mushrooms. If you eat mushrooms that have had this happen you are very likely to get food poisoning. The specific type of food poisoning would depend on the bacteria.
A jar or plastic bag are bad ideas. A paper bag is probably one of the best things you could use. A nylon (or similar material) mesh bag would allow air to circulate freely and help them dry.
In some places they string their mushrooms sort of like beads on a string and dry them that way. That could potentially be a good way also.
Whatever method you use, be sure to check your mushrooms while drying and before you eat them. If they smell off at all you should assume that the bacteria got to them and not eat them. Also check visually for mold. Of course, don't eat them if they develop mold.
Happy mushrooming!

As ToxicMan said, drying them is your best bet. I dry my mushrooms in a desiccant chamber. My desiccant chamber consists of the following: DampRid (desiccant, found at homedepot in painting section) on the bottom of a jar, wire mesh half an inch above the desiccant. Put the mushrooms on the wiremesh or on a coffee filter on top of the wire mesh.
One way that would work is putting the mushroms in a well airated(holes/slits) paper bag on wire mesh above the desiccant.
Just a note: don't expect to get ID's on a dried mushroom. It's near impossible.

Thanks for the help. I think that I will bring a camera along and take some pictures and write down observations so that I can get them ID'd. I will also take a paper bag to stick them in. It may get to about 30'C on this hike, will that be a problem?

That high a temperature should help them dry, hopefully.
When taking notes, be sure to note what they were growing on/from and any features that might not survive drying (fragile partial veils, for example).
