mycelium refrigeration

I'm going out of town for a little over two weeks (wasn't planning on it) and now I've got a dozen PF-style pint jars and 3 quart popcorn jars fully colonized. I want to slow the lost of water, growth and keep them alive while I'm gone. Can I use a (small) refrig. to keep them at a lower temp (?50-55 deg?) to slow the growth until I get back? Has anyone heard or tried this? would I be better off using the pf style jars to inoculate grain or another substrate after I take them out?

the fridge will work for the time that you will be away.

try something more like 40 degrees though.

This is ok to do. Put foil over the top to stop from drying out.

I left 2 jar in for 2 month(forgot)and they worked very well.
