Im thinking of getting a straw based mycobag and a B+ spore..
I read that B+ is the easiest spore to grow, and grows well on straw... Will it grow if i put the mycobag under soil in my farm? Thanks
I am going to try and isolate the soil with plastic so insects dont get in, thanks alot!!

Ever think of doing one of the outside teks?
You can use colonized cakes, grain, whatever.
You can even use spent substrate and cakes.
Dig a hole six inches deep layer of substrate layer of h/poo layer of straw layer of substrate layer of straw (thin) layer of poo (thin) layer of poo/dirt/straw on top.
Not sure who has the tek that goes into detail, search a bit.
a sealed mycobag in the ground will trap the mycelium in the bag and you want it to rizo out and colonize the surrounding area. If you colonize a bag 100%, use that as your substrate in the above manner.
Water a bit when done, make it somewhere in the shade. Hopefully you're in the 70's or above for temps.
If you want, I'll find that info or I have a word file I can send you, but if you search around you might find more than just this answer.

Sure.
My hard drive crashed a week ago, all of my stuff is on it. It'll take me a few days to find someone to snag my stuff off of the failed drive, but as soon as I have it, I'll send you some files.

Alright, first off, I'd totally get rid of your email address if I were you. You're talking about growing illegal substances here. And the board is almost surely monitored.
Secondly, I hope you realize you very well may have missed the boat for outdoor grows this year. You generally have to have your bed fully prepared by March-May to get growth in fall season. However, Workman, an old hand who doesn't come around anymore says "In order to guarantee a Fall crop the beds need to be well colonized before Fall. In my climate (coastal OR) well watered beds planted in June should have enough time to colonize adequately by October." So if you hurry your ass off, you may just make it in time.
Thirdly, since you're doing an outdoor grow, I highly recommend you consider doing a patch of p.azurescens as well as whatever p.cubensis you want to grow. Azures will offer a rather different trip, and are quite a bit more potent that cubies.
And finally, here's the link to the Mushroom Cultivation Archive's Outdoor Cultivation page. For azures, I'd recommend Anno's outdoor azure grow guide and for cubies, Moe's outdoor grow guide.
Alright, I believe I've said everything I needed to say. So good luck, may you have a bountiful harvest this fall.

Thanks a lot for the information. Ive research mushroom growing, but i dont understand why putting a mycobag outdoors will change the results much?
I live in canada, and where i live, its very humid outside... Will it be worth experimenting with a mycobag outdoors?? Thanks a lot again

Well, growing mushrooms outdoors is quite like growing anything else outdoors. They pretty much have a season during which they fruit, and that's basically that. Although I, unfortunately, have not yet undertaken my own outdoor grow (college life and my consequential lack of ownership over any actual property prohibit it), from what I've read fall is the primary fruiting season, but it's not uncommon to get some growth in the spring as well.
Now, so far as I can surmise, the reason why they won't grow outdoors as quickly they will indoors is because when grown in a natural environment, they must wait for specific cues from their environment before they start fruiting. Also, the mycelium growing outdoors is quite possibly slower, but more sturdy, in order to combat and defend against the scores of organisms trying to attack the network. That's just an assumption though, based on what Workman said about the beds needing months to adequately colonize.

Yeah? If that's the case, then sorry for the misinformation. Like I said, I haven't had experience with outdoors myself, I was just relaying information from old hands like Anno and Workman. Not to mention you've got to keep in mind that if he's planning on using LCs, then they need time to colonize (7-14 days), and so does the spawn (10-21 days depending on whether inoculated with LC or spores), and for woodlovers, then the woodchips need time to colonize as well before putting it all outdoors.
So I mean, even if he's got plenty of time before he has to get the stuff in the ground, it may not be that much time since he's starting from scratch. Regardless, you shouldn't procrastinate. Good luck w/ it all.

no worries with cubensis it takes a few weeks for spawn run, and then they''ll furit on their own if the weather permits or you can induce fruiting with a sprinkler or whatever. woodlovers wont fruit until cold weather arrives and if he starts relatively soon he'll harvest in the fall, if not then the fungus will survive the winter and fruit the next year.

there is never a hurt in experimentation.
We all do it and all love each other for doing it and posting their results.
So go ahead. I still reccomend getting it in the ground with a bulk tek, but whatever works.
As long as it works and those babies come up, it will fill your heart with joy, like being a new daddy. That's what's important.l

So blueridge, let's say I'm in the peidmont of an eastern state such as NC, hypothetically. When would you suggest be the absolute latest time to put some cubes in the ground?
Sorry to threadjack distgre, but I don't think it'd be appropriate for me to start a whole new thread just for the one question, so I hope you don't mind.

'round mid-late august would be the latest i would think, theyll fruit a week or 2 after that depending on how much you are trying to spawn.

I never see you post in cultivation forums, and they're really the only ones I frequent. I'm glad to see that you are still around though.
