Is anyone a member? I'm thinking about joining, but was curious if any Shroomerites had any info (positive or negative) about the organization and its benefits.
Thanks in advance!

That is a very interesting find. I am curious to learn more about this, and why hasn't it ever been mentioned before. (well, maybe it has. I've just never seen anyone talk about it)

There are two full pages dedicated to it in the Cannabible 2 ... so it has some pretty strong credibility

It may or may not work in a court of law, but a scam, it most certainly is not. Jason King (author of the Cannabible) is many things, but a scam artist he is not- he truly respects and loves cannabis- and for him to put this in the Cannabible 2 is enough for me to at least look into it.

I know there's a church or something somewhere around where I live that's using marijuana religiously and as a means of helping to fund the church/group/whatever... Whether it's legal I don't know, cops never bothered them though...

Do you think this is the first interest group to come up with the idea: "I know, we'll claim drug use is part of our religion so we can do them whenever we want". I'm not familiar with the law, but the idea is much easier said than done.
So lets assume joining the ministry will NOT give you a "get out of jail free" card if busted. What are the benefits then? You get to send them your money and receive a "certification" in the mail?

Quite frankly, that's somewhat offensive. If I were to join this group, it would most certainly be more sincere than a get out of jail free card. I truly believe in cannabis and am deeply opposed to the current prohibition. Marijuana is deeply spiritual for me, and this organization is true in its intentions from what I can see- it for sure isn't for people who like to smoke a joint now and then and don't want to get arrested.
With that said, thanks for your input.

Of course some may abuse something like that and think of it as nothing more than their get out of jail free card, but many would consider it honourable to belong to something of the sort. It depends on your perspective and whether or not you're just trying to save your own skin, or if you truly support the cause.

And no badchad, I do not think this is the first group to come up with such an idea. It's the first endorsed by Jason King, however. And I know he is just a human being- but a human being who loves, respects and knows more about cannabis than anyone I have ever come across in my life.

Well in the page you provided, the opening paragraph only provides information about the legalities. If you click further the links for "legal defense" seem to be at the forefront of the page. I probably haven't read enough, but the group's predominant message seems to be for the use of cannabis.
So how does one join this ministry? Let me guess, by a generous donation? A cause so honorable, deep, and spiritual you have to purchase it. Keep us informed on how it turns out.

eh, around here the police aren't that bad with weed... You get caught, long as it's not an obsene amount they'll usually take it, search you, then let you go, no fine or anything. So I don't think something like that's really necessary for me... On the other hand I just can't see weed as being that spiritual. Maybe it's because I've never had a spiritual experience, maybe I'm just not doing something right, who knows...
