light

cakes usually get about 14 hours of light.

what if using a candesent light about 10 ft away on for about 6 hours so in total, the cakes would get 14 hours natural light and about 6 hours weak candesent.

what is the light requirement of cubes?

What you're giving is great. There are no hard and fast rules. Some experienced folks give more light, some less, but all get great pinsets, so don't worry too much about light. A few hours a day is fine, so placing your project near a window where it gets diffused sunlight, but no direct sunlight is ideal.

when you mean diffused what is meant by this? like refracted of the walls, or not an intense shine?

That would work, I've gotten just as good pinsets from 6/18 as I have from 12/12.

That's the idea, you want indirect, low power lighting. Just enough to trigger pinning.
