After you think they are 100% colonized, wait five more days. Break them up in a ziplock baggy to nickle size chunks, case them with 50/50+ casing, incubate till you see myc poking thru evenly, then proceed to fruiting temps and humidity.

just go pick up some damn horsepoo. its a lot cheaper and more rewarding and not that much more work. im real glad i picked my shit up.

Poo is the way to go. If you can get it from a stable or farm, all the better. All I'm gonna say about Tenn Stud at this point is that if your gonna go with him, order a month in advance. As for the smell during pasteurization, that can easily be fixed by doing it in a cooler. No smell, and you can use the poo water that results for a variety of things.

aged horse poo doesn't smell bad. smells like earth.
