Agar Questions

OK...Go easy on me...I haven't been here for several years and I have a few quick questions...
I'm attempting agar this time around, and I was wondering if I can use an old Honey Water Tek revision...
In the old tek, we used tape to seal tiny holes in mason jar lids...The honey water was put in the jars, the lids were installed and the jars were pressure cooked...The jars were then inoculated with a spore solution syringe injected through the taped hole and the mycelium grew (usually pretty well until it contammed)...
It seems to me this same method could be used to make agar jars and inoculate them...I'm sure I read something similar as I sorted through the tons of information I've acquired recently on agar...
Can this work, and will it help to cut down on contamination???
Can the resulting mycelium then be used to inoculate peroxided agar???
I'm doing my best to understand the process and see if I can get away with using the Oven Door method...There's just no time right now to build a glove box, but I'm anxious to get started again...

i'm not going to say its impossible to do agar in anything other than a
glovebox/flowhood/cleanroom etc but i think success is not likely, but
i guess with the h2o2 you could grow the myc on reg agar then cut it
away from any contam and transfer it to the h2o2 agar. actually i am
curious about this myself you should try it and keep us posted. i dont know about using jars because it would be hard to get in there and
seperate the myc petri dishes are your best bet you can get sterile disposable dishes for pretty cheap.
