Hello everyone! I have an hamletic doubt! I would like to know if living cultures growing on agar can develop psilocibyn like in a normal substrate, I mean when they're in this state: http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/7492/myceliumcloseup0xi.jpg I was absolutely sure that every mycelium from psilocybin mushrooms contains psilocybin, but I noticed that there are lots of shops that sells living cultures in agar of psilocybin mushrooms from countries where psilocybin is considered illegal! So I'm not sure anymore! Maybe the quantity of psilocybin is so small that they don't consider it illegal, for example, in Italy it's possible to cultivate cannabis only if the thc quantity it's inferior to 0,3%!

I am pretty sure the answer is yes. The mycelium that grows on cakes and what not before the fruits appear can bruise and turn blue. This is a sign of psilocybin. hope that answers your question.
Oh yeah, these vendors you talk about selling psilocybe mushroom cultures when it is illegal in their country to cultivate psilocybe mushrooms are breaking the law, avoid them like the plague. They'll only aid in getting you in trouble.

It's actually the psilocin that stains blue when it's oxidized. Psilocybin doesn't cause bluing.
But to the original poster, yes, it still contains illegal compounds.

Myc contains enough "actives" to be DETECTED.
(but, not enough to get you high, unless you eat a 5 gallon bucket full.)
But, the fact it can be detected, is enough to get you BUSTED .
