like this hombre?
you know, that description is pretty good. and look how easy it is. shows you recognize how important it is to know what to ask. me like. sounds like Stropharia rugosoannulata they also occur somewhat golden as youve mentioned.
But don't go eating them based on this ID. I would like to see a pic too before I would feel good about giving you that as a final ID.
It would help to know if the stem was solid or hollow.
theres a few stropharias that match your description, tho maybe less likely to occurr in mulchbeds as with my first suggestion

hmmm, well a hollow stipe would rule out rugoso-annulata.
maybe stropharia ambigua?
its pretty much gotta be a stropharia, Hypholoma or naematoloma.
Hypholoma capnoides is a likely candidate.

Mitchnast stop throwing guesses at such a mediocre description. Its this kind of false knowledge that kills people.

Mitchnast has been here long enough to know the rules, His guess is as good as anyone elses. So far he hasnt told anyone to eat a unknown mushroom. Lighten up a bit.
