 rye odor

knocked up a few quart jars of rye berries 3 days ago. starting to see growth in all of them. my question is should there be any odor coming through the tyvek? It doesn't smell bad really but there is a distinctive odor coming from the top. This would seem to follow as it is wet unrefrigerated grain, but this is my first time deviating from BRF cakes and i dont really know what is normal and what is not.
any thoughts here would be veeery helpful

well my freshly pcd jars smell like the smell coming out of the pc when you open it.
the smell of pressure cooked rye 
and yes i can smell them through the polyfill im using, guess its the same with tyvek.

Jesus fucking Christ. I was soooo fucking careful. WTF why do i fail time after fucking time with any type of grain?
1 outa 5 looks like it might be ok. the rest fucking stink through the tyvek and i can see a few berries with a blackish substance colonizing it. fuck fuck fuck.
is it just this hard to do grain or am i just fucking up somewhere. I mean htf can anything survive that trip through the PC. 1.5 hour at 15???
i fig its gota be after. i wonder how good this tyvek is. i mean is that really good enough?
oh well. i think i might just have to find my way back to BRF that shit seems fail safe almost for me. never once had any type of contam with BRF...ever. and now that I'm using poo.. well I'm hoping i can get a decent potency from the pf tek.
sigh . its days like today that get you down.
ordered a new strain as a gift to me so i dint get to depressed. i think I'm going to go pet the kitty for awhile

chill out son it is a process. i am fruiting my first rye casings now and am very lucky not to have any contams. what tek are you following and make sure you follow it to the letter. this is a good one http://www.shroomery.org/index.php/par/26177 and make sure you are still using the lids of the canning jars and not just the tyvek. make one dime sized hole and a small hole for your syringe if your not already. and do your work (at least shooting them up)in a small enclosed area like a closet or something. don;t forget to spray the shit out of your work area with Lysol and Oust a few minutes before you start...
