I went to a cocktail party last night, and then to go see the musical "Wicked". I had heard a lot about it, and people are for some reason going nuts to get tickets, so I had high expectations.
It was ok...not great. The orchestra wasn't all that impressive, and Galinda's voice kinda sucked. On the up-side, the "Witch's" voice was excellent, parts were pretty funny, and I liked the storyline.
All in all though, I would have rather stayed home and gone to bed earlier

The novel that the musical is based on is great. Probably one of my favorite books.

My mom invited me to go see that with several other family members and I opted not to join them. I never heard another word about it and I never asked either. Now I know why I never heard "You missed a great show".
Thanks for the review and the reassurance that I made the right choice. I think I was doing some nice drugs that night with a friend instead.

I heard that from someone I went with as well. I'm going to read the book. From what I hear, the musical didn't do the book much justice.

Musicals are just strange to me. Who bursts out into singing while doing dialogue and stuff?
I have a friend who is crazy about "Rent" though.
